A fair call though Marlin. They had to be proactive in the short term while the investigation takes its course.I think everyones had enough of these hangers on anyway.Waller is showing some leadership so good on him.
Re: Disgraceful Scen after Elomar Kickett Fight at Central Coast
No complaints from me mate.
Re: Disgraceful Scen after Elomar Kickett Fight at Central Coast
I swear you influenced the paper to stick Mundines face next to the Gosford riot picture, racist prick.
Re: Disgraceful Scen after Elomar Kickett Fight at Central Coast
A few people say that Mundine had nothing to do with what happened the other night, and he is being unfairly treated. I say fvck him. He could do with a bit more self reliance. How about this scenario.
He shows the sport some respect for a change.
He comes to the ring on time, and minimises his showboating.
He gets in the ring and fights a good solid fight knocking out the piece of trash opponent.
He tells his manager and promotor to stick their 2nd and 3rd rate opponents up their arse and fights some meaingful fights.
Sh1t, i've got to stop trippin, that sh1t will never happen.

I was right pisse doff the fights night was crap and then a bit of action and foxtel censor it by pulling it. TV is strange I mean how many times have we seen planes flying into towers in the USA but some try hard mussies get in the ring and we dont get to see them stoned to death with chairs.

How do we get that in the Smilies options.Marlin wrote:convict wrote:![]()

Any news on the outcome of the investigation???Brute wrote:The ANBF is talking about investigating the incident and possibly suspending Elomar. They claim that his mates invading the ring caused the problem.
Will anything postitive come out of it? For the sake of the sport I hope so, but doubt it.
Re: Disgraceful Scen after Elomar Kickett Fight at Central Coast
They are looking to use the Pitch Invasion Act to stop people rushing the ring after a fight and the are also sending "show cause" letters to the people involved, meaning they will have to explain why their registration should not be suspended or cancelled...
Re: Disgraceful Scen after Elomar Kickett Fight at Central Coast
Marlin's update is confirmed by this report in today's Telegraph:
"A NUMBER of people involved in violence at a boxing promotion in Gosford earlier this month have been asked to show cause why their registration with the Boxing Authority of NSW should not be suspended or cancelled.
The Authority held a "special meeting'' last Friday to review television coverage of the violence following the bout between Willie Kickett and Ahmed Elomar at the Central Coast Leagues Club.
Taunts were exchanged between supporters of both men after Elomar's shock first round knockout of previously unbeaten Kickett, with fights subsequently breaking out and objects thrown into the ring.
In their review, the Authority said they would recommend to the Minister for Sport and Recreation changes to the legislation to try and prevent future ring invasions.
Authority executive officer Craig Waller declined to identify the people his organisation would send show cause letters to. In a statement, the Authority said "these persons will be required to show cause why their registration should not be suspended or cancelled''.
The Authority can suspend or even cancel the licences of people registered with them, which normally includes fighters, trainers and corner men.
Waller said the proposed change of legislation regarding the prevention of ring invasions would be to bring his sport into line with the current regulations regarding other sporting venues.
"Hopefully we will have all the issues resolved before the end of the year,'' Waller said. "As far as the recommendations to the minister, that will depend on how we rehash the Pitch Invasions Act to suit the Boxing Authority.
"We will be using that as a template to be able to work from for suggestions.''"
Hopefully some good will come out of it, but the way the NSW State Government is currently going - don't hold your breath!

Re: Disgraceful Scen after Elomar Kickett Fight at Central Coast
Did you doubt me? :P
Re: Disgraceful Scen after Elomar Kickett Fight at Central Coast
Not doubting you at all, just intrigued that they would be looking at the "pitch invasion act", as a means of penalising interlopers. To use it effectively you need a strong co-ordinated security team and what I've seen at boxing, the security is a bit light on!
Re: Disgraceful Scen after Elomar Kickett Fight at Central Coast
Then the trespassers need to be arrested and prosecuted by the courts. I doubt whether boxing will go to those extremes. Writing them a letter to show cause why they should not be banned is kid's gloves stuff.
Re: Disgraceful Scen after Elomar Kickett Fight at Central Coast
Time was Police had to attend all fights in NSW. The then State Liberal Government did away with that in 1992, changing the Act to refer to a "boxing inspector". The Ground Invasion Act mainly refers to publicly owned sporting fields. How it would work in clubs (which are owned by the members) is another question.
Re: Disgraceful Scen after Elomar Kickett Fight at Central Coast
Did anyone end up getting banned or fined?
Or was it just a slap on the wrist?
Or was it just a slap on the wrist?
Re: Disgraceful Scen after Elomar Kickett Fight at Central Coast
It has been postponed until Feb, Apparently Elomar and Ahmed have to give reason why they threw chairs into the crowd in retaliation and why they refused to leave the ring.
