As of yet there has been no official response from the Mundine camp.

yeah i believe that the days of " you get nothing for free" are over but in my business i do a free one every now and then as part of the big picture. if Pittman has a backer/sponsor who will look after him while training he could fight and try and beat Mundine to get a foot in the door to bigger and better things.

yeah i don't see why anyone can say he won't fight for free as a win against mundine will ensure some sort of big payday thereafter. it very smart actually. but would mundine fight him?

it wouldn't actually be for free...it would be an investment. Of course all investments are risky and if pittman lost then of course it would suck ass for him but if he won he would be laughing all the way to the bank as it would secure him a decent payday, lets not forget mundine is a top ten ranked fighter.

although it could maybe help to promote it if he did
the general public, might get really interested in a gimmick like this,
and get right behind pittman, thus making more money for mundine

I dont think Pittman is the one that will knock Mundine out. If Mundine fights Pittman he's weak, and i think whoever handles pittman should be looking for a matchup with Ben crampton, rob Medley, Daniel Geale or Junior Taliepai.

how can anyone assess how good mundine is? He doesn't mix it with quality opposition. Anyone can look good against cabbies and carpenters.
Send him to germany and put him in against a decent fighter.......oh wait....

^^ i reckon it's good to see people 'stick fat' to the fighters they love. However mundines opponents are the epitomy of fighters with padded records. They looked good but they are not. Although I don't always agree with the boxrec ratings, they are a good guide. I think rather than consider their records, have a look at his last few opponents ratings. That will give a better guide.

I see him UD pittman, perhaps TKO.

With Sturm I think the best he could hope for is a close fight.

If Daman is fair dinkim he could take Shannon out very quickly but may carry him to get some ring time. One last big pay day to send Shannon out to pasture.

A better and more evener matchup would have been Shannon versus Jamie. But Shannon's days in the sun have long past and a faster fitter Jamie would account for him.
