Paul has the style to bother Hatton. He is fast and slick. However Paul is erratic and is capable of delivering a masterful performance like he did vs Ndou in their 1st fight, as well as being lazy and flawed like he was vs Ngoudjo.

Malignaggi - comfortable UD.

I am glad I got it wrong too!!!

Dont want to face the people at work though - they all went to the bookies on my tip of Malanaggi winning sometime in the last 4 rounds!!!

Ha! I take that to mean that you have no intention of reembursing them for their blind faith spud? Seriously though, a great night for British boxing and it's also made me realise how special the whole Hatton phenom really is.

Shit I just watched the fight and lost all respect I still had for Paulie...The man is supposed to be known for compensating his lack of power with speed and skill but WTF??? He just showboats dancing around wearing his hands down thinking he is f*cking ALI ??? and the man gets tagged all the way and bearly manages to land 91 punches in 11 rounds? what a fvcking joke ! the shorter, supposely slower and brawler style Hatton outjabbed Paulie and beat him to the punch all night long.
Paulie should go find another sport to practice because with shitty defense along with no power at all, in association with his style thinking he is Ali or Robinson...the man is gonna get hurt !

Malignaggi fought the fight an an abysmally negative way, patting and holding in rank survival mode from the first round on. That being said, it's difficult to see what he could have done. He was being outboxed when he stayed on the outside, and was being slowly crushed on the inside. He couldn't keep Ricky off him at all.

One thing that's clear is that although he's a brash Noo Yawker, he is also a great guy. His interview after the fight was magnanimous, and apparently after the fight he presented Ricky with some bottles of Blue Moon beer, which he found in the town in which he held camp. Shows he's a class act.

I wonder if he'll ever be able to fix the hand to be able to punch with it?

Agreed. And for everyone that says "you should still respect malignaggi for being a great guy" well i still don't like him. His fight record is decent, but the guy himself sucks. I don't have to respect him just for the sake of it!

"but his interviews are great"- all he did was suck up to the british fans, and he was a sore loser. He couldn't understand why the fight was stopped, and pushed his trainer away. Yeah great guy
I think Paulie's OK. Decent bloke and one of the good guys of boxing.

If you don't like him, that's fine, but he obviously has pride and was upset the fight was lost.

It's funny, but I suspect that if he hadn't bee hacked off at the whole thing, he would have been criticised for accepting the stoppage too lightly. What ever happened to fighters' pride, you'd all be bawling.

I thought Paulie's interview was refreshing, humble and honest..... he went UP in my estimation. Both he and Lou DiBella.

He made no excuses, said Hatton was the worthy winner, knew he was a mile behind on points and it wasn't going to be his night - but he wanted to have his pride in tacked and his "never been stopped" tag remain. He was rightfully gutted about that.... I thought it was a bit of a silly timing to stop the fight also. The fight was lost rounds before really, so all he had left was to fight for pride and survive - and McKirt robbed him of that.

Its not because he complained about the stoppage that I lost respect him read my post, its because of the way he fights.
