Wats the BIg deal.I wouldve killed those two boxers in the OPEN division,Hernandez nd Jeremiah Penny.boxmel wrote:Dennis, the new rule book does not address any new rule that overturns the fact that you MUST have 5 scored bouts before you enter the advancing tournament. Never, in my 21 years, have you been able to get wins in a non-advancing novice tournament (held at the same time as the advancing open tournament) and go on to a regional tournament (unless the rules were being broken). The current rule book also states that boxers must have a minimum of five bouts prior to entering LBC tournaments that lead to regional or national championships. )If Pritchard already had five bouts, why didn't he enter the open district tournament?) And that only the LBC champions are eligible to compete in the regional championships. Or, if none of the prerequisites are filled, an athlete can be selected by the LBC - but I wouldn't think the winner of a Novice division would qualify. I can also tell you that Pritchard did NOT get five bouts in the District tournament - it only goes two or three days.
What boxers turrned pro or are turning pro, this year?

Re: What boxers turrned pro or are turning pro, this year?
It was as though someone took a page out of Mo Greens book and said "this place in the middle of no where is perfect for building a bunch of gambling casinos" and so Tunics Ms appeared as a miniature Vegas, with out the hookers. Darned, but still the little gambling hamlet became a haven for building up-and coming boxers. Tunica is not a town but more a spot on the Mississippi, defined by a few places where you can loose so easily what most of the folks down there work so hard to acquire a paycheck The crowds are capacity and they love their boxing and the boxers that put it all out there. So when we converged on Tunica Friday, we understood going in that we are what's going on. The boxers are treated with love and respect, and the commission is serious about putting good fights together. I worked Shawns, and Mark Davis' corner and enjoyed the company of Jermain Taylor who was there with Ozell. Domonique was looking sharp, dressed in a suit and I let him know it, a sign that you can change the cover of a book. We enjoyed our last hurrah of the year by sneaking in a 4 rounder to replace Dom's bout and then get serious about the holidays and bulking up to super heavyweight. A break in the action till 2009 will be nice to gather our thoughts and be thankful for all of our good fortune of the last year. Then let the energy build to start up again with a renewed, rejuvenated focus, It has been a great year in that my daughter will have here first child making me a first time Pop pop. My fighter went 12-0 in 11 months and a our new gym is about to open. Through the hectic pace of trying to be all places and be all things to all people, it feels great to have a sliver of time to take a deep breath and just enjoy. I hope all of you will have a great holiday and enjoy what is most important, family. Dennis, Mel, Kolya, Amy, Verb, Digital, and the rest of you, it is a pleasure reading your worthless rants throughout the year, and to my good buddie, JMac, may you choke on the wishbone, just a little.

Hal, you are soooooooooooooooo sentimental - I shed a tear or two.I hope all of you will have a great holiday and enjoy what is most important, family. And, seriously, the same to you and the ranters you mentioned. Many in boxing have become my good friends over the years and feel like family. I wouldn't trade you for all the tea in China!

Adrien Broner is supposedly looking good. Any idea who trains him? I was told a guy called Mike Jafford but can't find any information on this trainer?

You are, perhaps, speaking about Mike Stafford? He's Rau'shee Warren's trainer.
