Exactly.

Plus, GBP and Hatton can put on undercard....

They wont need to put much of an undercard on because most of the people there would not know Joe Louis from Louis Amstrong.

FACT.

Rubbish - another promotional company from the UK will be brought in - guarenteed!!!

Fights cost an awful lot to put on - are you stating you think GBP will bring in their fighters from abroad to fill the undercard - how much will that be in flights, hotels and expenses etc etc

In addition the "Chief Support" will also need to be a decent one regardless of how good the top of the bill is - I am telling you now there is a surprise to come out of the bag if this fight takes place.

ODLH will expect to win and have his farewell against someone else, even if he lost he would have a rematch clause

Since when was the undercard to Mayweather-Hatton, Delahoya-Mayweather or Hatton-Tyszu near decent? No other promoter is necessary Matthew Hatton and a few other journeymen withh be on the undercard and 50,000 drunk Mancs will pour in 10miniutes before the start of the main event in time to boo the US National Anthem

Hatton got 55k through the door for Lazcano.

A flat fee may be paid to an established promoter in the uk to 'assist and help promote' much like Barry hearn did for Naz - but that's about it.

Also, other fighters can appear on the card with the consent of the fighters Promoter etc.

No matter how much it costs to put on HAtton ad GB will make Millions.

Fact Fact Fact!

GBP have the fighters to make an interesting site for those who actually KNOW their Boxing.

Matthew and some others will make up the rest.

That will be more than enough for the people who do not know Joe Louis from...........

josh fg wrote:Would be a difficult fight to organise because Wembley wouldn't have the transport links at 5 in the morning to cope with 100,000 fans looking to go back to central London or manchester, believe me I used to get that night bus when I moved to London.

A little thing but would be a nightmare. In terms of the fight I think DLH is mainly living off his names and if hatton comes to the ring in any kind of form he could have a good chance against a faded fighter.
London Transport could put on specials. The tube train sheds are nearby to Wembley Park Stn so logistically it wouldnt be a problem. The tube starts pretty early anyway. They could also put on special buses. They can clear crowds after the FA cup so they know what they are doing. Wembley into central London is a doddle, half an hour at the most.

Because of the current economic crisis, coupled with the lack of fans willing to travel to Vegas, it would seem obvious that this fight has to happen in the UK. GBP would be stupid to put it on in Vegas given their business model.

Absolutely rediculous to suggest Hatton vs DLH will not sell out Wembley without an undercard.

Tszyu vs Hatton sold the MEN in the middle of the night with a shite undercard.

Hatton vs Lazcano sold the City of Manchester, within days, with an average undercard.

Hatton vs DLH will sell out within days.

Totally agree. Hatton Jnr v Witter on the undercard would be pretty big as long as Matt doesnt have any losses in the meantime.

A fighter or two from another promoter might be required, but I doubt they would need to make it a co-promotion with a UK promoter (other than "in association with" Hatton's Punch Promotions). I'm guessing that Spud is hinting at the possible involvement of Hayemaker. I can't see this for one simple reason: Hayemaker are exclusively contracted to Setanta and this will undoubtedly be on Sky Box Office.

nope not hinting at Hayemaker at all!!!! - you correctly point out the Sky and Setanta problem - but there again I am not so sure concerning the longevity of Hatton's PPV contract with Sky.

Is it fair to assume Ricky will earn more for boxing Oscar than Mayweather? Ricky earned $20M for facing Floyd, so with Oscar being the biggest draw in the sport, I reckon Ricky may earn even more!

Some of of you lot are eluding to - no problems as long as Hatton V ODH happens f*ck the undercard - other promoters won't get brought it to which I say - oh yes they will!!!

But lets get onto another point - Cost

Tickets - UMmmmmm - controversy to come there.

PPV Price - Ummmm controversy to come there.

Spins off etc etc - make no mistake - whoever is promoting the fight will make an awful lot of money - and when in 2009 the credit crunch will bite a lot harder than people think - there is one person who will suffer - that is the punter!!!

Yeah, he was too busy taking on Tszyu, Castillo and Mayweather rather than walking down a guy Bradley dealt with without too much difficulty :TU:

Hatton will get around £10-15m I reckon....he's not going to get £25m!

VIP seats - Platinum - £1500 plus

VIP seats (Ordinary) - yep Emerson I agree £1000

Then what people think are ringside and what are called ringside seats will cost £750 - £ 800

I think the cheapest ticket in the house will either be £75 or £100 and they will be snapped up extremely quickly - the best bet is to try to get those tickets through boxers on the undercard - one they will be available and secondly the boxer will get commission on the tickets he sells and for me that is good news for the boxer because some of those undercard fighters do not get paid enough!!!

I thought fighters took a deduction from purse? I know of at least one FW show where a fighter had to do that. Maybe it's just certain Promoters.
