Say if I wanted to set him up it would be easy to plant stuff in his garden and make a call to the cops.
They will need more evidence than that, e.g sworn statements, his fingerprints on the gear, unexplained cash in his house, money he can't expain going through his accounts, explain how he can afford any luxury goods, holidays etc
Planting £12,000 worth of cocaine is a lot, though. Would someone really sacrifice all that?
Exactly my thoughts... no-one's gonna plant £12k.
Ud be very surprised my friend, dont wont to go into details but something simler happend to me in 1999,i served time bak then for something which wasnt my fault..dont u guys think bad of me... :box:

Could be a stitch-up, might not actually be coke in his back garden, anyone could bury a tin of white powder in his garden, then ring the police.

To make him look bad,

just a thought

His 'relief' at not being in olympic competition anymore was probably due to him needing to get back to his crop.

Dont know anything about the plants, but if they're anything like ganja...

Its a shame if true as it means he has been greedy and looking to take short cuts to wealth but in general terms it isn't that surprising - loads of boxers get caught up in moody business.

Still, for a lad with his promise and potential to get caught up in this is terribly sad.

Shades of Ricardo Williams anyone?

I haven't read them myself, but my mate says they both accuse Jeffries now as well.

not at all.

jeffries picture is there, erroneously it seems, and that is actually an actionable offence in court. if i were jeffries i'd be seriously looking at this.

ps ur mate is an idiot saying that they're accusing jeffries as well

pps ive only read the independent one and the dont mention jaffa at all...only show his picture

ppps ive just read elsewhere that jaffa has already taken my advice!!

He's an armchair fan, so yes he is.

You'd think the Editor would make sure something like this didn't happen (based on the assumption that they meant to put a picture of Saunders in there and someone got confused).

Its a disgrace that Jeffries has had his picture incorrectly put alongside the story about Saunders.

No doubt he'll get an apology and compensation, but some people might still link him wrongly with the drug case.

I think Tony Jeffery's will be having a word with his lawyers today, the Daily Mirror have printed the Saunders story and mistakenly put a large picture of Tony up instead, some apologising to do there.

Having 300g worth of gear in your house is not the brightest move is it! In fact, I cannot believe anyone, whether dealing in it or just looking after it for someone, would have the merchandise at the address in whichat they live. With that much on your hands, if you have it at your own house, you are half asking to caught in my view.

300g is nothing to be sneezed at, that's for sure lol!

If found guilty, boy, boxing career gone out the window. Let's face it, how the fcuk are you going to explain 300g worth of gear in your garden?

Its a bit early to say Father Christmas left me it lol!

Yeah I know mate!

Maybe I exaaggerated a bit, but nevertheless, 300 grammes is still a fair bit!

Whatever the case, Suanders still finds himself in the shit, plain & simple! As for the Mercedez, say goodbye, Bradley!

300grams is about 4500-5000 worth,,, thats what saunders what have paid for it,,, the 12,000 figure is if your selling it in grams ect ..
loads of boxers sell gear they do it for the quick buck and use there reputation for being able to handle themselves as an advantage.

With regards to the photos, there was an apology to Tony in The Independent today. They said it was a mix-up at the photo agency. I can see how it happened, as I imagine Jeffries and Saunders are both in a file entitled 'Boxers:Olympics:2008' And I very much doubt a picture editor knows either of them from Adam.

Just googled it, couldn't find an apology and it seems like they are still running with the picture, most other articles use the same pic too.
Saunders vehmently denies he is involved and hasn't been charged as of yet so it clearly isn't cut and dried
