It was printed in today or yesterday's Daily Mail that Graham turned down a £400k 'thank-you' payment from the Hattons as part of the split

But if there was a contract, a payment is in order. It all depends on the arrangment they had.

I think the whole situation is really sad. For his whole career Graham has been like a second father to Hatton and has moulded him into the fighter he now is. Now all of a sudden the two are split and looking at possible legal action. It's a real shame.

It is sad, but these things happen.

I do not know the facts but from what I have heard about the character of Team Hatton and BG. I side with BG.

DG sides with BG.

Its a terrible shame after all they have been through together. Somebody made a very good point the other night. He said up to now Hatton has had a man in his corner who loves him, whereas for Mayweather its just a job that hes getting paid very well to do.

Ricky made Graham, not the other way round.

Graham couldn't hold the pads for couple of years. I believe Ricky had the drive and boxing brain to make it whoever trained him.

And I think the partnership got stale. Look at the improvement in the Malignaggi fight.

If Hatton owes billy money, then graham should be paid - but Hatton has ,ade graham a lot of money and publicity.

You think?

What BG did for Hatton money can not buy.

He loves the git.

BG did a job and was paid - he owes Hatton nothing in that regard.

Lets see what Hatton does against a Puncher with 2 hands.

I d not know the facts, but BG has more integrity from what I have seen and heard.

Absolutely. And I didn't see Mayweather doing or saying anything between rounds that comes as close to what Graham used to do with Hatton. It's all well and good when your beating up a powder puff puncher like Malinaggi but when the going gets tough you need a good cornerman to pull you around and read the riot act. Hatton had that with Graham, I'm not sure he has that with Mayweather.

Whatever anyone says about Mayweather as a trainer, he's a gash cornerman. His advice sucks donkey's ass.

Graham always struck me as an excellent cornerman, but who am I to know.

I think Floyd Sr. is better trainer than Graham but when he resorts to "motherf**ker this, motherf**ker that" inbetween rounds instead of giving actual advice it looks daft. I remember a fight(can't remember who it was now) when Floyds fighter was struggling and the advice he gave was something along the lines of "beat this guys ass, whoop him" :o What kind of advice is that? I thought the whole idea was to tell your fighter to change tactics not tell him to give the opponent a BDSM session. Seriously while I think Floyd is a terrific teacher, his attitude in the corner seems a little strange, same with his brother Roger as well.

Mayweather Sr's corner work sucks, at least from what i've seen (and heard). Watching on the TV obviously your only getting to see bits and pieces here and there, but i've yet to hear him say anything intelligent that shows me he's reading the fight well. During the Hatton - Malignaggi fight he seemed lost for words most of the time.

If i was an elite fighter i reckon i'd been looking to work with a more intillectual trainer than Mayweather :-?

I thought some of Floyd's advice in this fight wasn't too bad to be fair.

Seem to remember he was pretty quick to notice the fact that Malig didn't want to throw his right hand pretty early and as a result was telling Ricky he could walk him down from about round 2, and that as long as he was catching his jab he was in - or something along those lines. Other than his slurring and accent, I thought he was trying to give him one clear thought to work on before every round, which I think is better than war and peace.

He certainly sounded no worse that McGirt in the other corner who was terrible. Think his stock piece of advice was 'Double Jab' for every break in rounds!!

Don't know about Genius, when your faced with a guy who can't punch , throws a jab and then grabs , it does'nt take a genius to work out this guy don't want to fight , therefore you can walk through him

Personaly i could'nt help but think Hatton needed to double his own jab more often and be told to bring the punches up when Paulie went for the grab .

Juries still out on this one Ricky was definetly more motivated and had more sparkle than previous fights , but that was too be expected, he had to prove he can still do it without Billy That would off been the mindset off the fighter not the great training regime,
Has for any improvement well to me he looked like he settled and boxed more instead of hustling but he could already do this we know from Tackie and a few others , that Ricky can actually box well when he wants too, and it was always going to be easy to do this against a one handed powder puff puncher who don't really want to be there.
Personally I think Ricky was still easy to hit on the odd ocasion Malinga tried he did land , I would like to see Ricky in with Ndou , Ndou will hit back and that is when the test will come .
Ricky though s still the king off the jnr welters unless pacman comes and takes his crown .

But regarding Oscar i honestly see Oscar stopping Hatton easy in 5 just tooo big and tooo acurate

Yeah I know you're being sarcastic, but if you listen to the experts in the commentary box it's about 4 rounds before they pick up on itm to be fair.

I guess my point is that Boxing is a simple sport and Floyd was keeping it simple in the corner.

What more advice could you give to a Ricky Hatton type fighter?
