If you had a pick to send 1 of our aussie heavyweights to the last season & the main one of The Contender 5 for 2009, who would be your choice?

A friend of mine watched one of the shows of cruiserweights and host danzon and possibly foreman & lennox lewis to appear as special guests.

i thought he was kiwi my bad.i think our new generation of h/w should go meehan maybe on a back end of career likes of tua,s/briggs,toney etc.
I was going to choose Haumono but only one person comes to mine who has the aggression,stamina & heart who ducks no one, who is currently ranked higher than all of them except meehan and i know he'll train the house down, of course its the contender thats all you do is train would be Alex Leapai.if not available then Hopoate.

yes but might have a problem isn't he under don-king, demori to be in it don-king might want access of promotion rights which is a hell no & remember king is the biggest rip off promoter in the world "watch the movie".

wouldn't it be better to give these guys praise. u know who they are but for some reason don't like to give credit where it is due. why don't u go and follow a different sport then. most of these guys are doing their best and have performed quite well really.

i dont get what you mean praise. all i know about them is there name and record (once i looked them up) but that tells me sweet FA about what they are like because ive never seen them in action. and if you cant cant help me know some more about them why even bother posting a reply to me

bah no one is ment to have heard of every boxer in the world, im sure you know everything about naddime siddique, yousef al hamidi and many other english boxers i havent heard of aswell as australian 1's. i dont profess to know everything about the sport i just enjoy watching and doing it. but if people like you have a go at people everytime someone doesnt know something then know one is going to learn about them are they.

No i'm Tongan proud & serious about boxing just huge fan of the islander boys & i grew up with hopoate in Tonga, my opinion after watching leapai on foxtel against cronje he's got what it takes 2 stand toe 2 toe with the bigboys not haumono,hopoate,briggs we have 2 b serious about it, leapai has it in him.
They said haumono was crook fighting couser & look like he didn't wanna b their & j/lewis 2 talk like that 2 haumono & said he'll throw in the tell, Hopoate in 2nd rnd was hurt and if mirovic just connectd with his right hook which he missed fight would of been over, Leapai on eastside boxing stated he was crook and wanted to spew in the 2nd rnd due 2 losing 2kg with in the 1hr at the weigh in nite b 4 the fight against moyoyo and gave an impressive performance where his opponent was holding for is life

so theirs my vote

isabella i'd vote for you any day . i thought i was the only one that see things like you do. i would have to mention michael kirby should be there as he held his ground against leapai for twelve rounds for the opbf title only to lose a close decision if you were to add the two points deducted from him . his only other loss was on points to nathan briggs what i thought was a draw kirby tired a bit at the end but i thought he done enough throughout the fight . anyway you can watch it on youtube and judge for yourselves.

I'm a pom and would like to say that this is the best Aussie line up in the heavyweight division
in our lifetimes - Australia should have a strong heavyweight division as it is one country with
the oldest national heavyweight title linage on the planet - The Australian heavyweight title is an
important title historically.

I would like to see Nathan Briggs get a shot. He is a good boxer who is prone to getting banged out
but I would like to see him there - he's not a world beater but over 5 rounds he could give anyone an argument.

you don't want to send some one who gets dropped 8 times in a fight you'll expect the heavyweights to be heavy hitters and i don't see briggs taking those hits he would only last th 1st episode.
