A Sacramento area boxing question: I have recently acquired a very nice paper poster promoting bouts in the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium on March 4, 1938. The headliners were Lloyd Marshall and Angelo Puglisi. BoxRec lists the bout as being held in Dreamland in San Francisco. (Marshall won by KO in the fourth round.)
The undercard featured Mario Duchini vs Freddie Graham;Larry Duchini vs Soldier Stanley; Ernie Erida vs Louie Cimpanelli; Tony Olivera vs Owen Hink (Hinck) and Johnny Gomaz (Gomez) vs Tony Darone. BoxRec lists all these fights except the Olivera - Hinck match) as being held in San Francisco.
(As a matter of interest. bantamweight Olivera was 81-28-14 in his career, beating Hinck three times, and often boxing three times a month! Check it out.)
Dos anyone out there know if these matches were moved to SF, or where I can find more information? Thanks very much!
(PS: I would add a pic of the poster if I could figure out how to insert it in this message.)
