Good list...
My cuedos to the "The Aliens"...
10 rounders
Turkey Thompson Vs Cleveland Williams:
I'd say Williams on points, a more talented boxer than Thompson in my opinion...
Elmer Ray (195lbs) Vs Donovan Ruddock (221lbs)
If Ray could survive the big weight difference, I think he could pull off a points victory.
Earnie Shavers (210lbs) Vs Ingemmar Johannson (200lbs)
Good fight!!! In the past I wuld have said Johannson, but a few months ago I started getting into Shavers and watching his fights (all that I could find) and so, I'd think that Sahvers would probably win by a late KO or stoppage (round 8 or 9)...
Bruce Woodcock (195lbs) Vs Max Schmelling (190lbs)
Schmeling is a more talented boxer... Schmeling ref stoppage round 10.
Tommy Morrison (225lbs) Vs Mac Foster (211lbs)
I think Morrisons style would be made for Foster... Morrison, KO round 6.
Max Baer (206lbs) Vs Ron Lyle (220lbs)
GOOD FIGHT! Baar was always good at fighting bigger men... But if Lyle can beat the likes of Shavers, I think he could beat Baer... But, I'd put id own to 50-50... I'm gonna pick Baer on this occasion...
George Godfrey (233lbs) Vs David Tua (227lbs)
I think Tua, (on his best day) would be too strong for the resilient Godfrey... Tua wins by tko...
Gerry Cooney (225lbs) Vs Luis Firpo (216lbs)
I think Firpo is an under-rated boxer... And if he could stand up to Dempsey, I think he'd have a reasonable chance at beating Cooney...

Re: HW mythic tourny 2
Williams SD
Ruddock KO3 Slugfest that sees Razor win mainly because of weight advantage
Shavers KO5 He would put his hands on Johansson at some point in the 1st half of the fight and I don't think Ingemar would survive it.
Schmeling UD
Foster KO4
Lyle SD on one of his best nights
Tua DQ Tua catches Godfrey cold in the 1st. Godfrey gets up but initiates what would later become Trinidad's trademark. After 8 low blows, Godfrey is disqualified.
Cooney KO 8 but could go the other way around
Could have some good matchups in the next round

Re: HW mythic tourny 2
Cleveland Williams vs Turkey Thompson
Both fighters go at it from the opening bell, Thompson landing
a solid flurry managing to wobble Williams late in the second
round. As the fight goes on both men follow the other around
exchanging hard blows. In the seventh Williams works of the
left hook and manages to drop Thompson. The ref is forced
to step in after a heavy barrage.
Williams TKO 7
Elmer Ray vs Donovan Ruddock.
Ruddock works from behind his jab, using his size and reach well.
Ray does well to work his way inside and attacks the body even
backing Ruddock up in the second round.
A hard jab, left uppercut, or smash, combination drops Ray in the
third round. The rest of the round is spent covering up and avoiding
further punishment. Ray fights back landing a left hook, right cross
that stuns Ruddock. Both men exchange in a violent foray in the
rings centre. It is Ruddock however who lands the telling blow,
dropping Ray with a left hook followed by a right uppercut that
sends Ray to the canvas for the count.
Ruddock KO 4.
Bruce Woodcock Vs Max Schmelling
Schmelling is in control early on in the fight his jab keeping Bruce
at bay, landing his right hand well to stun the big Briton. For the
most part of the fight Schmelling is leading on the judges cards,
only being trapped on the ropes in the sixth round.
In the ninth Woodcock lands a vicious and fight ending right hand
that sends Schmelling crumbling to the canvas. A good come
behind win for woodcock.
Woodcock KO 9
Tommy Morrison vs Mac Foster
With his guard high and stinging Morrison with his jab, Foster commands
the fight well from the opening round. Morrison managing to find his
range and rhythm as the second round opens, landing a stunning
hook to the body followed by the uppercut, by far the most impressive
shots of the first few rounds. Foster himself lands a cross that drops
Morrison in the last minute of round 5, Morrison is up, to be sent down
again from a barrage of blows. Round 6 gets a way with Morrison keeping
Foster at a distance, landing his hook with greater efficency.
The seventh opens with Morrison sending Foster to the canvas after
a solid burst of shots, Foster is up only to be dropped again. Morrison
is all over Foster with hard accurate shots that end the fight.
Morrison KO 7.
Max Baer Vs Ron Lyle
Both men go to war with hard right hands and wild decapitating hay makers,
Lyle is hit hard by Baer's overhand right and elects to box behind his
stiff jab. Lyle seemingly running short of breath after tasting Baers
crude power stays behind his left only occasionaly thumping a right
hand to keep Baer from catching him. At the end of the fight both men
show wear and tear, the crowd assembled can not help to feel robbed
by the fight being just ten rounds.
Lyle MD10.
George Godfrey Vs David Tua
Godfrey tries to box the swarming Tua who comes in like a wild bull
landing sapping body shots and uppercuts that throw Godfrey onto
the ropes. Godfrey does his best to hold on and tie Tua up. Round
two see's Tua landing a long range left hook that sends Godfrey
down for a five second count. Godfrey spends the next few rounds
throwing one or two blows and then clinching with Tua.
In the last round of the fight however Tua manages to land another
left hook that puts Godfrey out for the count.
Tua KO 10.
Gerry Cooney vs Luis Firpo.
The big Argentinian comes out wild throwing all that he has at Cooney
almost ambushing Cooney from the opening bell. Round one see's Cooney
counter punching Firpo's wild leads. Round two has Firpo throwing wild
looping shots that throws himself onto the canvas as he misses a left
hook. wiping his glves he comes out again walking into a damaging
left hook that cracks ribs. On one knee he gets back up at the
count of eight. Cooney smelling blood is all over Firpo blasting him
out of the ropes and out of the fight with a battering ram right hand
left hook combination.

Earnie Shavers Vs Ingemar Johannson
Ingo comes out looking to work from behind his jab, dropping
his left hand, Shavers lands a right hand that drops the Swede
to one knee. The rest of the round is spent with Shavers
stalking Ingo. Round two has Shavers landing hard hooks to the
body and a right hand that puts Ingo down. Back up and looking
to land his own right, which glances off Shavers shaved dome,
it leaves him open for one more of Shavers left hooks that drops
Ingo. Back up again while doing his best to fight back, Shavers
lands a stunning right hand, followed by an uppercut and two
hooks that blast Ingo onto the ropes. A compassionate ref
jumps in saving Johannson from furtther damage.

Stage Two results...
Donovan Ruddock Vs Cleveland Williams.
Williams looked to land the left hook early in the fight, it manages to
slam home and against Ruddock's gloves. Ruddock tries to play counter
fighter, but leaves himself open on several occasions leading up to round
4. Loading up with his lead uppercut Ruddock finds himself being picked
off by Williams. As round 5 gets under way, Ruddock works behind a
jab and slowly finds a home for his right hand. Both guys go toe to toe,
Ruddock hitting the canvas first. Round six gets under way with Williams
going down twice, once from a left uppecut, right cross and thirty seconds
later after a right hand crashes into him. Unable to recover the Ref stops the
fight.
Ruddock TKO 7.
Bruce Woodcock Vs Earnie Shavers.
Woodcock comes out hard and fast from the opening seconds, almost
over welming Shavers who stays tight and works to counter. The first
two rounds has Bruce trying to finish Shavers, with earnie doing little
in return, besides jab and throw rights to the body. In the 4th, it is a
hard over hand right that comes from no where that puts Woodcock to
sleep. His limp body not moving for 30 seconds, before his foot starts to
twitch.
Shavers KO 4.
Tommy Morrison Vs Rony Lyle.
Both men are looking to set up a KO shot, and it is in the second round
that aright uppercut-left hook from Morrison puts Lyle down for a six
count. In the third, Lyle again goes down from a hard left hook that
skims over his guard. Lyle goes to the ropes as Morrison blasts away
with body shots and hard hooks up high. Round four starts with Morrison
rushing Lyle, trying to finish him. Mid combination he is intercepted by
a Lyle short right that sends Tommy to the canvas. Up at eight he is
wobble only to be rocked and backed up. Down two more times he is
up like a yo yo. But the Ref has seen enough.
Lyle TKO 4.
Gerry Cooney vs David Tua.
Both fighters are cautious for the first two rounds, working behind single
jabs and hooks, trying to establish a rythm. Cooney starts to slam the
left home as the third gets under way, Tua looking for the bigger man's
jaw leaps and lunges with a wild left hook. Keeping his foe at bay, Cooney
manages to land hard and telling shots into Tua who absorbs them doing
his best to land that one good shot. Round five starts with Tua landing
a left hook that smashes high on Cooney tearing up skin. Blood pours
across his chest and side of the face as he blasts away at Tua.
Going after Tua, Cooney leaves himself open for a left hook and crumbles
to the canvas half way through round 6. Ahead on all three cards he does
not have enough to get back up after eating the might Tuaman left hook.

News just in....
Donovan Ruddock Vs Earnie Shavers
After a slow start Ruddock works behind his jab and looks to land
the 'smash'. Shavers goes to the body well and finds the uppercut
landing well. It is in round 9 that Shavers lands a vicious right hand
that puts Ruddock down for the count.
Shavers KO 9.
David Tua vs Ron Lyle.
For most of the night Lyle fights as the boxer, banging away and then
tying Tua up, working from the outside and frustrating the stocky
Tua. The Tuaman loading up on hooks and a heavy jab manages to land
but his frequency is just a bit under that off Lyles.
The fight picks up around the 5th round, with both men going at it hard,
a double left hook tearing skin above Lyle's right eye becomes a point of
concern for his corner.
It is in the 9th that the blood is coming out to much, that the ref has to
stop the fight, awarding the victory to Tua.

Re: HW mythic tourny 2
Tua clobbers the perennially over-estimated Shavers, IMO. The first left hook Tua lands turns Shavers' suspect jaw to putty. Tua, on the other hand, could probably absorb at least a few big shots from Shavers' monster right, & once he lands in retaliation...
Re: HW mythic tourny 2
Earnie Shavers vs David Tua
Both men start the fight steady and cautious. Shavers is able to
send his heavy right hand home. A back and forth war, that see's
an even footing between both men. Shavers bombs home several
hard shots in the third, putting Tua onto the back foot.
By the seventh the fight has slowed up, and with a mamouth left
hook cleanly landing on Shavers jaw, sending him to the canvas.
He is counted out leaving Tua standing the victor of the tournament.
