Man, no joke. My 34-year-old cousin was found dead in his flat last year. He was a nice lad, wouldn't hurt a fly but just fell on hard times. Before he died I'd seen story in a local rag saying he'd been caught nicking pens in WHS. I'd seen him and he looked ill so I put two and two together. Seems he took too much of some gear he'd bought which was pure. fornicating dreadful. Found dead, on his own in his flat. No joke and though I've never warmed to the Booth brothers I wish him all the best. You don't have to be a tosspot to be hooked on drugs.

Unfortunately I think that some people are just doomed to get addicted, a lot of it is merely genetic, the people who fornicate up on drugs would always have fucked up on something, booze, whores, gambling etc, the unfortunate difference is that drugs can kill you a lot quicker than a life of pissing it up, shagging whores and gambling.
It makes you wonder how the Board didn't pick up on this. I thought they did a dope test after every championship fight?

I think when people are training really hard they figure they can afford to put coke into their bodies,
To be honest cocaine isn't particularly hard on the system, it's only regular usage which fucks people over, provided people have long enough breaks between a session there are little or no deleterious long term effects, although there is always the minor risk of a stroke or heart attack.
However, battering it every day or every other day results in looking like your own dad....

Good question. I'm not sure how they test to be honest. I'm sure we'll get an answer soon.Twinkle Toes wrote:Well if he was addicted, like what is being said, surely he would be hitting it very regular, and if that's the case it does make ye wonder why the board didn't catch him at some point.
By the way, do the board carry out random drug tests or is it only after certain fights?

Well that explains it - must have been something serious to cause him to resort to breaking into an OAP's house.
Coke can age you pretty fast. The lifestyle it requires to keep up a habit like that will send you rapidly downhill.
Up all night, not bothering to eat, going cold turkey every few weeks when you run out of money...or start training for your championship fight in this case.
He must have been quitting before each of his previous 2 years fights. What a nightmare existance he must've had - probably glad to be in prison at the moment.
Coke traces stay in the brain for months at a time, but I guess they're quick to leave the blood/urine. Sounds like the Board might need a new testing system.
Aaron Pryor was ravaged by crack in just a few short years. Booth might have one last chance now.

Crack cocaine is basically 'washed up' in acetone and then mixed with bicarbonate of soda, which bulks it up and makes it smokable. Cocained generally doesn't smoke well because of it's crystalline nature.
The nature of crack is that the high is much briefer and the hit a lot more intense. This means that whereas a cokehead might sniff their way through 4-5 grammes in a mammoth session, spending about 200 odd quid, a crackhead can smoke away a grand over the course of a day, and really fornicate themselves up to boot.
Cocained when smoked in whatever form recrystallises in the lungs, causing them to bleed, and crackheads can go on benders lasting days on end, laying waste to their bodies, finances and relationships. I've seen a few people really lose themselves on crack.

crack cocaine is refined or" washed up coke" that involves a purifying and treating process that makes it stonger and harder hit that you smoke, its muc more addictive than the sniffable stuff cocaine, which is bad enough in itself.
The high lasts about 2 mins and then starts to subside which is why people go mad for it constantly.
I would place coke while as a hard drug as more of recreational substance (hence a lot of celebrities use it) wheareas Crack is much more like skag (heroin) a real dirty drug that becomes a way of life wandering from one hit to another .
