I hesitate to say oil trader as the stigma that goes wioth that word isnt seems arrogant, its supply economics basically, inclusive of logistics and market influence.

People who think there's a difference between Pepsi and Coca Cola. Is there bollocks, they're both muck and only barely passable even as a mixer, just fornicating drink it man!

Bar staff who say "we've only got Pepsi" when you ask for a Vodka & coke (or whatever). I don't give a shit, I'm not fornicating drinking it. Just pour the bastard thing.

People who ask me if I have any mixers when I offer them a dram of single malt. Yes, it's called a splash of mineral water, you fornicating heathen.

Real Ale drinkers who dissapear up their own arseholes at the sight of a pint of larger. I like bitters, stouts and ales, but just because it's not larger, doesn't mean it's good. And just because it is larger doesn't mean it's bad. Get some Kovel, some Budvar or some Staropramen down your neck and look happy.

Student bars. I hated them when I was a student. Too many rugger-bugger types trying to piss in each others mouths etc.

Bars where people go to look pretty. Hey, I work as a designer. I can appreciate an aesthetically pleasing bar. I spend a lot more time in proper boozers, but it horses for courses, right? But people that turn up to show off their new designer gear, stnad at the bar and preen?   Look buddy, some of us are taking this seriously, so either get pissed or fornicate off.

Hmmm, it seems that there's a recuring theme of alcohol in my pet hates. Maybe I should stop there...

But there is a difference, it's been proven in lab tests that Coke will dissolve almost everything quicker than Pepsi will.

On the subject of alcohol. Topping your pint up with lemonade. What is that all about? It makes it a shandy. The amount of times i've had to say to someone, "It's not a lager top, it's a shandy you nonce", is beyond belief.

I hate that ad with the city blokes in a locker room, boasting about how much they earn. Then that twat takes them outside and they're all impressed with his ultra cool car. Ugh. Do people actualy buy the car as a result of this numb nuts ad?

Now here's some highly entertaining facts for you - in fact the coke ones are a real eye opener :o

WATER

1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half world population.)

2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.

3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.

4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50%less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

COKE

1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.

3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for sumptuous brown gravy.

8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.

2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!

Now the question is, would YOU like a glass of water or coke

Great thread.

My pet hate is bad manners. Not the Buster Bloodvessel-led 80s combo.

Also middle class people and the aspiring upper-middle classes.

4x4s.

As Sartre said "Hell is other people." Except he said it in French.

And I hate people who try to be clever pudenda too. :TU:

I'll take coke thanks. I'm a man who likes to live on the edge.

J, try putting a shot of chilli vodka in your pint. You'll find that takes the edge off better than lemonade. I always thought that there were different strengths of shandy. Maybe it's me who's wrong, but a lager top is just a strong shandy. You southern fairy.
