Cintron would absolutely destroy Hatton in a few rounds max

N'dou lasted 12 rounds but Hatton would only last a few, please don't post rubbish ! :o :o
That means nothing mark, Hatton is a lot more reckless than N'dou hence he'd get hit a hell of a lot more.

While I agree the Current Scene has some absolute nonsense on it, I hate to say that I'd also favour Cintron over Hatton by mid-round stoppage. He's a huge Welter with genuine KO power. Just because Margarito has his number doesn't mean Ricky could do him.
I would be lumping on Cintron to win by KO if that fight came off. Hatton is no MArgarito. Mark Thompson, you need to watch a few Cintron fights and understand weight divisions.
so why do presume the fight would be at welterweight at not light-welterweight ?? Also Cintron's CV looks nothing like Hattons Cintron has 1 huge name on it and he lost by a KO twice to the guy.

Well, nobody gets more hacked off than me at the standard of debate and quality of opinion on the current scene. It's often abysmal.

However, I'd put Cintron, flawed as he is, massive favourite against Hatton.

At welterweight i agree JUST, but at light-welter Hatton by late stoppage for me.

Because it wouldn't happen at light welter, all of Cintrons fights have been at Welter or light middle and he probably goes into the ring on fight night weighing more like a super middle

You're clearly too biased in Hattons favour to talk about this subject. You are unable to see the styles matchup and the serious power advantage in Cintrons favour. Not to mention he would find Hatton without too much trouble. If the likes of Lazcano has you holding on, Cintron would obliterate you. Lazcanos check hook that had Hatton in trouble would be like being hit by a pillow compared to what Cintron would throw.
I'm not unable to see anything thank you, and im not a massive Hatton fan, but your picking out 1 of Hattons worst performances and basing your argument on it, Urango is about as big as Cintron and Hatton got a UD over him.

Mate, do you understand the power Cintron has in either hand? The punches that hurt hatton from Magee, to Vince Phillips, Collazo, Urango, even Mayweather, would be nothing compared to Cintrons punches. I would be concerned for Miguel Cotto in a match up with Cintron to be honest.

Cintron is 4 inches taller than Hatton and has a 7 inch reach advantage. The only reason Margarito won their two fights is because of his chin, it's unbelievable. He's practically unKOable at this stage of his career. He had to take BOMBS from Cintron, especially in their second fight. Even though Cintron lost that one, I was seriously impressed by him. Margarito is just a machine in there. Hatton would try to box Cintron but at some stage he has to come inside to work, and I would be very worried about the punches he would take on the way in, and when he's actually in there. Cintron would probably blast him out very early.
Yet N'dou lasted the full 12, jesus is Cintron your buddy or what ? If Cintron is this boxing machine as you are portraying him then he will be undisputed welterweight champion by the end of 2009 :TU:

i'd certainly pick hatton over cintron.

he ain't nothing special.

he's just a puncher.

look how he had a life or deather with estrada.

hatton's a lot better than estrada.

hatton in about 7 or 8 rds.

and it was fairly close on the cards.

3, 4 and 5 pts was it.

n'dou would lose virtually every rd against hatton.

style wise cintron wouldn't be hard for hatton.

he'd be there for hatton.

hatton's got a good chin.

it's more speed that bothers rick as opposed to brute force punches.

bet me house on hatton beating cintron actually. :)

Well, at light welter, Hatton would win about four days before the weigh-in when Cintron tragically died from malnutrition from trying to make weight.

You see, what you're doing it making the heinous error of looking at one fight, or a couple of fights, and extrapolating. Cintron was KO-ed by MArgarito, and N'Dou went the distance, therefore...

It simply doesn't work like that, I'm afraid.

Think of it this way: Ali will always befuddle Foreman, Foreman will always smash Frazier, but Frazier and Ali will always be a life and death struggle.

The knockout loss to Mayweather was embarrasing. Hatton got totally schooled at his own game, before being ko'd by a man not known to be a big puncher, in the biggest fight of his career. Hatton didn't land a meaningful shot in that fight. It was very embarrasing.

Ndou has a chin of fricken steel! No shame in not getting the KO there. Not really relevant to being able to stop Hatton.

Cintron is a murderous bloody puncher, but then it would all depend on what Hatton was able to do, how well he could give and take punishment. I'm pretty sure he's no Margarito in the chin department, but Tszyu hit quite hard too. Dont think Cintron would like getting cracked in the ribs by Hatton, he could fold if Hatton's able to do his thing.

If I had to make a call, I'd go with Cintron, definitely. Ricky's going to get hit, and at this stage, I dont think he has the form and motivation, Cintron's no Mayweather. All it would take would be one shot to rock Hatton up, maybe put him to sleep altogether.

It was not completley pointless no, but Hatton was fighting a higher calibre of fighters when he came upto Mayweather.

He has not got many years left until he goes into his decline, so he should atleast go after the best Prime v Prime. Whilst he is still on form.

His choice of course, but if he wants to play the People's champ and Legendary card, he needs to go up a few levels.

The issue is purely weight.

All Ricky's advantages are taken away from him at Welterweight. He can't walk through shots to do his work inside, as we saw when he got put down by the average Collazo and all the right hands he ate from PBF.

If he was eating those against Cintron, he'd do well to make the 2nd half of the fight I reckon.

I do agree with you on the the Holyfield at #2 thing though Mark. That thread was hilarious!! The majority there all seemed to to think he was worthy of being higher than Lewis on the all time list :shame:

I think more importantly that we can all see the difference this fight has made to Ricky's confidence.

He seemed full of self doubt beforehand, but now has that confidence you need at the top level back again to challenge the likes of ODLH and Pacman. Not that I'm saying he'd beat either, but the Malig win will certainly give him a better chance.

The loss to Mayweather was embarrasing for the simple fact Hatton said Mayweather couldn't punch and said 'I hope he hits allot harder than that' while taking the mick out of Mayweather's pads routine and promptly got ko'd with his head smashing into a turnbuckle

I think Cintron probably takes Hatton and a KO isn't out the question, if Hatton leaves openings and Cintron gets his bombs off hes taking Hatton out, I'd probably rate him as the biggest puncher at 147. I'm not sure though because Cintron is flawed and hot and cold.

Were the likes of Urango really better than Malignaggi? I really don't understand what point you're trying to make. Hatton fought the best fighter in the world. How can he go higher than that? I understand that people have a problem with Hatton and his whole 'man of the people schtick', but what exactly do you want from him?

Move up to Welter. The "Natural Fighter at LW" is just nonesense. All he is going to do there is go against passed it fighters or sub-par fighters.

Welter is where the Prime World-Class p4p fighters are.

Hatton should be there.

Again he is not a welterweight so why fight opponents you can't beat?

On fight night Hatton usually weighs around 150-154lbs, the likes of Cotto, Margarito, Cintron and Clottey up at welter usually weigh over 160lbs come fight night.

What part of that can't people understand?

Hattons entire game is about strength, an asset which he wouldn't have when he fights at welterweight, Luis Collazo(fringe world class) threw Hatton around like a rag doll late on in that fight, Mayweather(not a welterweight) even outmuscled him so what chance would he have against the others?

Mark, why do you think Hatton would not get KO'd, or do you think he would lose a decision?

I think Hatton would be very competitive with Cotto, he'd be murdered by Margarito and Mosley and probably Williams. But Williams and Margarito and Mosley are giants at Welter, all have fought at 154 or above and boil to make 147 its unfair to ask Hatton to topple them for medium money when he could earn mega money for DLH with similar risk.

If Hatton stays at 140 he coudl still have JMM or Manny P to contend with.

Both terrific match-ups style wise and he'd have a big strength advantage.

Of the others Bradley looks the most rounded of his opps, but he's not massive at 140.
