WELL folks i have finaly dragged myself out from my locked bedroom to face the world ,i dont usaly bother with these forums but my wee bro gazmac has been telling me all about this forum and the intrest in the fight .firstly could i pass on my congrats to kell on proving himself a worthy champion, maby the posters who are close to him can pass it on! I was really surprised by the timming and sharpness of kell as its not often i am out jabed & countered wither its a fight or in a spar.

the plan for myself now is to bounce back in the new year probably late feb with a deicent 10 rnd fight to get be back in the mix again to have 1 last throw of the dice! :box:

cheers folks .....yours in sport .kevin mcintyre

ps..well done ricky burns ,joe calzaghe, david haye & all the best to Ricky the hitman Hatton :TU:

kev there is no shame to losing to a kid like Kell he has been a well kept secret nationwide but it was well known in Sheffield since his early days in the game that he was going places. He was trained by Brendan Ingle from age 9/10 and came up through the ranks. After a year in the professional ranks he was ill advised and left the Ingle Camp and until winning the vacant title he spent 3 years with no direction. His fight record until friday was pretty uninspiring as I am sure you will know and not something you would have lost sleep over.Whether teaming back up with the Ingles or the confidence of being the champion produced the result on Friday I dont know, but if he goes on to achieve european or world level I am sure your loss on friday night will be put into perspective.
I personally believe that if you had gotten into the fight it would have been much closer and the result flattered Kell.
You handled the loss with dignity and beleive me family and your kids will mean more to you when your career is over, make as much money as you can. There have been plenty of Champions who have been left penniless and alone at the end of their careers and you won't be one of them.

Keep your head up and walk proud there was no shame in your performance and anyone who has stepped into a ring, winning or losing understands this.

Good luck to you.You are a very accomplished fighter, no doubt about it -there are still plenty of good fights for you out there, and winnable ones for you as well.Time will probe Kell to be a very worthy champion and there is no shame in losing to him.No shame at all.All the best -you are a credit to the sport!!

Keen your chin up, or should that be down? There's no shame in what happened - that was a punch perfect display by Kell - these things happen in boxing, especially if you get caught cold early on.

Fella, that's a really classy post and I'm sure you'll have won new fans on this forum for that alone. I'm sure you'll come back from that setback as you've proved your ability to do so in the past. All the best :TU:
