The Davey Moores: NO RESPECT?

Post by elmersalsa »

I believe that the two late Davey Moores, were excellent fighters. I see their records and I believe that they were better than good. But it seems to me that they do not get enough props or enough respect in boxing forums and circles. I would like to know why?

I'd say because they both had brief stays at the top, and both their careers (and lives) were cut short very suddenly and tragically.

I think for the 80s Moore he is remembered sadly for his Duran loss.
Ashame really because from other clips I have seen of him , he is a
talented fighter.

light middleweight davey moore was a good fighter. exciting to watch but I think he was rushed. i think moore could have accomplished a lot more had he been brought along slowly, he reminds me a lot of vargas in that both were prominent young amateurs that turned pro, won belts very quickly at 154, got a large fan base due to their exciting style and willingness to fight anyone, and then got the shit kicked out of them before barely having 20 fights and looked very old thereafter.

How about the other Davey Moore, the featherweight world champion? He is not mentioned enough with the greats of the 126-pound class. But when I see his record, is very impressive and I think it needs Hall of Fame consideration...Don't you guys think?
