Sanigar complained to the WBC about the loaded gloves and a rematch was ordered, but Thobela lost the title in the first defence which is why Catley had the Lucas(I think) rematch

They have had a recent case in South Africa where a trainer soaked the bandages of his boxer in plaster of paris, there by making the fist rock hard come fight time.
Don't know if this was the case in the Catley v Thobela fight, anyone know if the same trainer was anything to do with Thobela at the time?
Thanks - that reminds me of an article I remember reading about Felix Trinidad - he supposedly did the same and it was meant to be like getting hit with a baseball bat!

William Joppy said that after Trinidad brutalized him but no-one found anything to substantiate his claims, so it's fairly safe to say it was just sour grapes on his part.
