Witter has proven to be better than him(even if he is a little more faded now) and while I just edge with Lynes for the win I think a stoppage is unlikely.

If Lynes is really 4/7 then that's very good odds. Paul is largely untested against the type of opponents that Colin has faced, and it will be hard for him because Lynes does have a killer jab and seemingly good fitness. Lynes 117-112 McCloskey.

You're won of very few to have it that way. The reaction(from both Irish and British posters on forums) has seemed to mainly range from McCloskey winning 97-93 or 96-94(some people I have seen had even rounds as some rounds were close).

If Paul had stuck to the way he fought in the first two rounds and just boxed Wright he would of won easily. Actually if you thought Wright won clearly having lost the first 2 rounds(because it's pretty much undisputable that he lost them), you must have had Wright winning either 6/7/all of the last 8 rounds.

I personally had it 96-94 McCloskey. I'm worried by McCloskey coming in at late notice, he comes in, in modest shape at the best of times so considering he was only meant to fight at 8 rounder I doubt he'll be in optimum shape. He'll cause Lynes problems at times but I think Lynes will take this closely on points by being more consistant and obviously that jab of his being key as always.

The problems for Lynes would come if McCloskey is slick and sharp enough to avoid that jab, I'm not sure he will be though.

In the wright fight an accidental clash of heads in third round caught Paul in the eye. The eye gradually got worse throught the fight. His vision was badly impared so he had to go close and get into a scrap. Anyone who has seen Paul fight professionally knows that his style is keeping it at distance and using his speed and counterattacks to win. This was not possible because of the injury. All being well you will see the real Paul Mc Closkey on Friday night and he will take the belt back to Dungiven. This is also providing he gets a fair go in Lynes back yard.

I scored it 96-94 the other way, I remember I gave Paul the last two rounds but he needed a stoppage at that stage on my card. Late notice could work both ways as the Irishman was down to fight an eight rounder already, he is finished strongly in the |Wright 10 rounder, if your fit enough for 8 you are for 12, the difference is mental.
I imagine he feels he has nothing to lose which could go in his favour, the late change may affect Lynes more as he has to alter his focus
