Tex Cobb Vs Leon Spinks site error

The Tex Cobb vs. Leon Spinks fight, listed as 3/8/1988 in Memphis, actually took place in Nashville. The card listed for Nashville on 3/18/1988, including fights involving Jerome Coffee and Frankie Randall, is the same card that was headed by Cobb-Spinks. I was there, but I don't recall whether 3/8 or 3/18 is the correct date; however, I am sure it was at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium. Overall the card was full of "showcase" mismatches (Coffee, Randall, and Chris Calvin--all hot prospects/contenders at the time--in blowout victories) and a laborious main event that came alive when the washed-up Spinks almost KOed a totally exhausted (and washed-up) Cobb in the tenth, only to lose the decision. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

All my reference material seems to concur that Spinks vs Cobb happened in Nashville on the same card as the other fighters you've mentioned.
Here's the problem. American Boxing Record Book and Pugilato gives the date as 88-03-01 and Computer Boxing Update (Fight Fax) has the date 88-03-18.

an article at Buzzle.com gives the date as March 1, 1988, as does the webpage for the NJ HOF entry for Spinks (I have no idea why a St. Louis native is in that HOF, but anyway). These are obscure reference sources to be sure, but it seems to be the concensus date. We could ask Leon or Tex to clarify, but . . .
