Mosley was out of gas halfway through his fight with Mayorga - I'm going for a Margarito late stoppage.

yeah jones can go whistle as far as im concerned, i think it was vitali who was caught, dont know of the circumstances surrounding it tho? i think there can be exceptions to the rule: james toney for instance, caught on nandralone twice. needs to be punished and banned, for a period at least, but as it may have just been something he took as a heavy weight, i wouldnt discount his accomplishments at lower weights. depends on the circumstances. roy jones does a one off for the vastly over matched richard hall and at no other time? please
Oh maybe there was something wrong with the testing procedure for sample A, cause Hall failed sample A also... both passed Sample B, which comes from the same urine.

So Jones DIDN'T fail the test.

I used to like Mosely but I guess this does expose him as a cheating little shit and he should be banned.

haha - EPNG - we'll all miss him when he is gone (well maybe not Terry D)... but in all seriousness, the gold medalists in Athletics get their medals taken off them when they have retrospectively confessed - why should Shane get credited with a win?

I'd say the same for a Holyfield confession... and at the moment a sworn confession only indicated by the New York Daily Post isn't enough for Mosley to lose the win - but if he does confess up publically.... then yes, he should lose the win and the win to whoever he beat with assistance.

Wouldn't a threatened ban actually prevent fighters from coming forward? At least until they were retired.

Baseball, and Athletics for that matter, has already gone through this process. Canseco started the domino effect, but not before he was retired and coincidentally had a book to publish. It took years before McGuire and Bonds made any kind admission.

I still can't believe every fighter isn't tested by the State Atheltic commissions before, and after, a fight.

I agree, EVERYONE should be tested.

Anyone found guilty should also be banned for life. I don't see the point in a 2 year ban or something like that as with some of the substances, taking them gives you an advantage for life.

For example, no way Toney could have bulked up so much (or would be as big now) without steroids. He may have served his ban, but he'd still benefiting from taking the drugs (and eating a LOT of burgers!)

I think he has let bygones be bygones about it now... Shane's a partner after all and making him cash.

I do find a little bit strange that you do not consider yourself a hater but have such a low opinion of him as a person that you think "Oscar would crawl over broken glass to get a sniff of a win in this case, he will use all his power to do so"..... he tried to get an inquest into judging of the Mosley rematch - but then there are only 4 people I know who scored that fight to Mosley (and I have surely spoken to over 100 people on it) it was on numerous websites annual lists "worst decisions of 2003". He was knarked at the coaches in the Trinidad and Mayweather fights, in which also a fair few thought he won, but he accepted the decision.

Every HW is roided, no notable exceptions and some lower weight fighters, its part and parcel of the sport, get over it

More than half the ring side press row scored it to Mosley, at the time of the fight forum polls had it pretty much 50-50. I scored it both ways, Mosley scored the bigger shots, Oscar landed the more shots but many were jabs and pitter patter shots. So it depends what you go for.

Its just Oscar throwing his political weight around

As it is Mosley was 0-1-2 in his 3 fights before Oscar and 0-2 in his 2 fights after.

Okay - up to five then... 3 judges, terry and PN. I would love to read the archives of being "more than half" of the press row. I was in contact with the report for Boxingranks and he claimed he was ringside and he was struggling to find one who scored it for Mosley.

For me, the biggest indicator was Mosley himself.

But still the there is no acknowledgement that maybe, just maybe, Mosley's, drug assisted, strength and power might have had a factor on DLH struggling towards the end of the fight (if you thought he did). No one is suggesting that hand wraps didn't influence the outcome of the Lewis - Collins fight.

In the weight-governed divisions, anabolic steroids are actually detrimental i imagine, unless it's the variety that strip weight (clenbuterol? )

Didn't James Toney get tonked in a fight he was actually juiced up in ? lmao.

The only boxers who i imagine would benefit from Vitamin 'S' .........

......are fighters who are moving up the divisions who need 6 months to *ahem* let their 'body grow into the weight'.

First boxing news story DLH's Ring magazine online? 'Mosley testifies he injected himself with EPO' !

http://www.thering-online.com/

All the noise they made about putting the mag in an editorial trust and remaining unbiased - the whole thing is an ad for the weekend.

Terry D wrote:Right, so Oscar's late fade was the result of 'roids? What happened in the Tito and Mayweather fights? Was he suffering from a mild depression? Or did he forget that they carry you around the ring after you have won the fight, not when you still have rounds left to play for.

You talked to a talking report from Boxingranks and suddenly it was a robbery? Are you De La Hoya's legal counsel or something?

Shane's body punching and tighter economy won him the fight, last I heard steroids do not teach you skills.

Are you seriously comparing an act of cheating that lead to a tragic waste of life with Oscar throwing a bit of a strop after he blew yet another big fight wad? Oscar got an assistant to turn his smile up to 11, then bitched and whined about the result through gritted teeth, then left people to argue forever on the Internet about the result, it was par for the course. It is THE De La Hoya fight.
Steriods might not teach you skills, but they can increase your power, increase your strength and increase your own durability.

I am not comparing the two - although both are cheating..... one thing I am not doing is dismissing that performance enhancing aids could have had a significant bearing on the fight outcomes. It looks like Mosley took aids that would enhance his performance, and yet it seems to be Oscar's fault?

As for the fight results, yes I spoke to the scribe at Boxingranks and also read fight reports and also scored the fight myself..... it wasn't actually a robbery but I don't think a case can be made for Mosley winning 5 rounds.

It does seem a bit much, although lets judge the website on a non DLH mega fight and then compare and contrast the content. It is a massive fight if the figures on Sky are reported to be true.
