I can't see why- appears to have always weighed in around the cruiserweight weight, but has been as hight as 244lb!

He's there because he won the coveted WBO Latin Light Heavy title (although he didn't defend it last time out).

Looks like his weight fluctuates, hopefully he is on the limit 'cause he won't have much time to get the weight off.

Yeah- I've made an error here. I was looking at the profile of a different Peurto Rican, also called Francisco, who is the number one Cruiser in Puerto Rico.

But looking at this guy- bloody hell- he isn't even a natural Crusierweight!

To be fair the opponent is irrelevant.

We all know that Enzo Mac is invincible and the only way for him to lose (based on past excuses) is if he makes some sort of mistake.

Yep, this looks like the kind of guy FW will pick.
Yes it's going to be this unknown palooka, what a piss poor excuse for PPV - no thanks Frank, Sky should have shown some bollox here and said the same.
I think this is where the mix up is- its actually another guy, surname Alvarez.

Good one. I loved the one after the Haye fight. "I made a stupid mistake and got caught." Nup its not a mistake getting punched in a boxing match Enzo it was a mistake for your manager to think that blitzing a serious of tomato cans (with the exception of Braithwaite) was preparation enough for your biggest rival.
I was at the o2 that night and Enzo looked stiff and well intimated like hell. Haye looked so confident and even dismissive. He hadn't exactly been cleaning out the top 10 himself but had been generally operating a much higher level than the turkeys Enzo was being served and both appeared to know that when the bell rang. :TU:

Of course there's no title on the line. Not even the WBU would put their name towards this farce!

Hmm on second thoughts, anyone got the phone number?

I've worked out allegedly that Warren has saved a small fortune on this fight being scrapped.

When the fight was announced at the end of July it was a $450k purse 60/40 split in the favour of Banks. On exchange rates around that time it was roughly £135k Banks £90K Enzo = £225k (before sanction fees).

On todays exchange rate it would have been £183k Banks £122k Enzo = £305k.

Expensive 'sprained ankle' for Banks and Enzo :??

Welsh former two-belt world champion, Enzo Maccarinelli, lines up against Blackpools "Magic" Matthew Ellis in what will be the Welsh dragon's heavyweight debut. Maccarinelli has taken the brave decision to move up a weight class in order to face the former world title hopefully, Ellis, on the excellent Excell bill. Ellis- coming of a great win against British veteran Luke Simpkin, will be looking to avoid the Enzo Calzaghe trained fighter's "big bombs" in the early rounds.

:DD According to Boxrec, Enzo in his 7th fight Ko'd a Blackpool heavyweight in the second round. Enzo weighed 196 vs 220 which the opponent weighed. Ellis weighed 219.5 in his last fight but has fought as low as 191.

Hardly a brave decision

Hide says he wanted fight!

Former WBO heavyweight champion and current cruiserweight contender Herbie Hide has commented on allegations from Sport Network that he agreed to fight Enzo Maccarinelli in London tomorrow, but then disappeared. "Warren and Maccarinelli have told everybody I would be running away from them – that’s just not true! I'm here and ready to go," states Hide. "In fact, allegedly knew all the time where I was. I have been in court with him because he still owes me money. Fact is that they offered me the fight only if I dropped the court case in return. I always said that I would take the fight as long as it doesn’t affect any legal issues I have to solve with Warren." Hide and Warren met in court on Wednesday. "I told Warren, the BBBoC and my promoter Ahmet Öner that I would take on Maccarinelli whenever he wants. It’s too bad that they already found some nameless tomato can for tomorrow.....as far as the 'Big Mac' is concerned, I will enjoy eating him alive! I heard Maccarinelli said I was the one guy in boxing he didn’t like. Well, guess what, Enzo, when we meet in the ring I will be the one guy who really tears you apart. If you think David Haye can punch just wait until you feel the power of the 'Dancing Destroyer.' I will wipe the canvas with your a** wherever and whenever you want."

Allegedly Allegedly!

The legend of Herbie Hide just gets stronger all the time.

I hate to confess it on this forum, but I think I love Herbie Hide
