I'd love it if a tabloid gave Hatton a column. Then he could write a piece entitled "allegedly needs to shut the fornicate up and stop bitching about fighters who left him. And while he's at it, he could try and arrange a night of boxing where all the advertised boxers actually show up".
It's an unwieldy headline, I admit. But that's what editors are for.

And to be fair to Ricky, who else is really out there that is better than Malignaggi, that isn't CLEARLY physically too big/good for Ricky.
Pacquiao who is slightly busy at the moment, Judah (although he is on the slide) and that is it.
Mayweather 2 - No Thanks - Mayweather is too good.
Marigarito - Too big
Oscar - Too big.
Cotto - Too Big
Berto - Too Big (might be interesting that one though).
The Lightweight devision is good, but full of +30 ex Super Feathers / Feathers at the moment - Hatton will destroy the all - possibly Marquez. But really I don't want to see Hatton vs Campbell, Casamayor,
I'm sorry, but a PRIME Hatton (if there are still doubts as to weather he is still in his prime) would start as a big underdog to the 147 guys, and to Mayweather. Only ones he would probably start a close favourite with is Pac Man and Judah. He would be a Heavyweight favourite against the rest.
Kind of like Joe - when Hopkins, Jones etc were at their peak, isn't it Frank?

The thing is FW is right it in what he says and it is easy for armchair pundits to sit at home crticising, but things get exaggerated. Hatton does need to have a really stern test in light of the loss to Mayweather, the poor close victories against others, and the stage he is at in his career.
Amir Khan, needs development - thats very very different.
Nigel Benn points out that FW is good at creating a strategic path and a route to world status should boxers be able to realise their potential and ambitions. FW is not dealing with givens, in terms of boxers being bound to be champions - he needs to be realisitc and take on board learning curves.
In the case of Calzaghe, Lacy was favoured to be victorious, but Joe's promoter had faith, just as he did when he originally signed him up to fight Hopkins and just as he did when he got him the very dangerous but career defining Kessler fight. FW in my opinion is overly criticised but he has a better track record than other promoters.
In terms of Hatton, I think he is correct - it is not necessarily a criticism of Hatton but a fact that for many of his past fights he has not looked convicning and likwise, has not neceassrily convined spectators that he has the ability to be the very best. I am sure Hatton actually agrees that at this stage he may as well take on someone like Pacman and see if he can produce the goods as the rewards are huge i.e. taking out the pound for pound No. 1.
