3 possibilities, or maybe a mix of all three:kellsey wrote:no matter howe hard i train im always exausted wen i box? i get realy bad pain in my legs and back but go through just to try and get fit but something always seems missing? could i be over training? any help would be welcomed!!! urs in hope!?!
1. You are overtraining. Stop everything 5 days before a bout to fully recover (Just a couple of sprints maybe to open your lungs)
Maybe you are having to lose too much weight before a fight?
2. You are extremely nervous and this is draining you of your strength. This is mental - you need to change your mental approach. You are probably stressing too much and worrying too much. The reality is - it means a lot less than you think it does.....if you realise this, you will actually box better. Try having a bit of a laugh in the dressing room.
3. You are too tense. This is often tied into being nervous. Practice stretching fully, breathing and concentrating without getting worked up. Think about relaxing your body, make this the priority when you are sparring.
Hope this helps.
thanks 4 ur time. i do lose alot of weight b4 bouts so maybe that has something to do with it? the nervs one is something i dont get. my hart rate b4 a fight is 60 where the doc told me most lads are 90 tp 120!!! i think tho that becoz i get in such a relaxed state to avoid nervs maybe my body uses up my good stuff staing carm, what do u think??

No that doesn't make sense - being calm and relaxed before a fight won't drain you of strength, it's a physical impossibility....Lewis, Hamed and other fighters were really relaxed before their fights and it helps them....kellsey wrote:thanks 4 ur time. i do lose alot of weight b4 bouts so maybe that has something to do with it? the nervs one is something i dont get. my hart rate b4 a fight is 60 where the doc told me most lads are 90 tp 120!!! i think tho that becoz i get in such a relaxed state to avoid nervs maybe my body uses up my good stuff staing carm, what do u think??
The losing weight thing is the most likely cause - especially if you run a lot or skip a lot near the fight to lose weight while eating nothing.
My last fight I felt pretty weak and had to lose 4 kilos in 3 days (I know loads of fighters who lose more, but this is still a lot of weight). i felt weak before I stepped in the ring...I won in the 1st round, so never got to test my stamina luckily!
