Life with Mendy around was never dull I suppose. He was certainly good at the PR stunt. He got Nigel Benn to rip up his British boxing licence after Benn scored the biggest win of his career over Iran Barkley. It was quite humourous on TV, but Benn was boxing in Britain in his next fight (losing to Eubank).

I remember him managing Adrian Dodson, and he said that Roy Jones Jr would be Adrian's first megafight. Boy did that go wrong.

Yes indeed. It's scary how the memory can play tricks. Nigel Wenton got chucked in with Sharmba Mitchell by Mendy.
As for Richie, he holds an early career win over Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson.

SHEESH THATS A GOOD WIN!

in my view one of the THE most underated boxers about especially when making P4P lists, always seems to get omitted and really deserves a place on there in my view.

That's right J, he used to be on the P4P lists a few years back, but apparently he likes a drink or two and he went off the boil for a while.
Maybe one the best American flyweights there's ever been.

saw hiom against montiel who was tipped as future star and he took the dismantled montiel but not as bad as he took the piss in his next bout though v bolano, I would have him in there I really would albeit at 8/9/ or 10..shame that the lighter wights dont always get the recognition they deserve....specially too sharp :TU:
