I think it's fair enough that pull-outs happen and big fights get scrapped. Fighters can get injured everyday in training.

The problem is the PR reaction just seems to be...it's not our fault.

I reckon the promotions company could have handled this loads better. They should have done something like offered refunds, but then if the fans still come to the arena and watch the show they get 25% (or some other offer) off tickets to the debut of the three Olympians or one of their fight nights if they do a roadshow type thing.

Also would be good if they have the Olympians at the arena tonight signing autographs and having pictures with fans etc.

I would have thought that there will still be a decent turnout beacuse fans of the Walsh brothers, Chisora, Small, Khan etc would have bought tickets just to see their guy and the £30 low price isn't so bad (maybe?).

As for the PPV I would have thought that Sky have main control of the decisions, and basically they should reduce the price. Big interest competitive fights for me were Enzo Vs Banks and DLH Vs Pac and one of them has gone.

Erm, no actually. You pays your money, so you should get what you paid for or your money back. One doesn't head to an off-licence and pay for a bottle of Cristal to be told, sorry none left, here's a can of tenants super instead. For the same price.

Tickets for the show tonight were sold on the basis that it was a World Championship Show. That is not the case now. Also, there were clear indications as to the anticipated level of the fights and fighters to appear which differs vastly from what is being delivered. (I'm sure there is legal precedent in this area - I will look it up) The Box Office issue is less clear-cut as the biggest fight of the lot was always and remains Manny v Oscar, so Sky/SN have a (unsatisfactory perhaps) get-out.

But treating the paying public like this is shambolic - especially with the main fights starting so late (thus denying those attending the chance to watch the Froch fight) and the Excel centre remains a p1$$ poor place to get away from in the early hours of the morning (esp with Prince Regent currently shut!). The suits, however, will get away with this by dint of the sheer numbers of Khan fans that will turn up/switch on regardless. Khan remains the 4th biggest draw in boxing and SN will still make a profit as Khan has that loyal fanbase who will follow anywhere.

Intriguingly, I think this maybe what SN are banking on with the James Degale, however, I simply don't see that Degale has the personality or the public impact that either audley or Khan had following their medals. Ironically for a SN fighter, his best chance of making serious money may have to be getting up to and then performing consistently at world level?

the sale of goods act states that if items are 'wrongly described' or 'faulty' then the purchaser is entitled to a full and unconditional refund. this bill is certainly guilty of being 'wrongly described' ...

Or pick up a 6-pack only to find that by the time you've got home one can has failed its visa application, another has too high blood pressure, and another one is going to spray out the can in the first few seconds.
