Dear God, please let Witter and Hatton get it on...
Surely they've got to make this now, the BBC guys have really stuck the knife in tonight.

Witter looked fantastic = No Hatton fight.
BBC commentators are awful, every time a hard shot lands Jim Nielly calls for the fight to be stopped. Also they kept saying that Canadian fighting Froch was badly hurt when a lot of the times Froch was missing and the Canadian seemed to be taking Frochs punches well.
Witter looked great, he could have beaten the chinny Judah if only he at the time he fought Judah had the confidence to sit on his punches.

Witter looked the dogs b0llocks tonight. Had a good interview afterwards and came across well. Just one of those honest hard working boxers. As far as I am concerned this guy is undefeated as he was put in with Judah way before he was ready, I think the fact he fought a 4rounder in the fight before his fight with Judah speaks volumes if you ask me.
Exciting times for Junior Witter as he can now get himself right up there with a fight against the likes of Urkal, Branco, Mbaye and so on.

I wonder if any of this recent critisism is getting home to Ricky. Does he relize how bad his credibility has got because of Franks recent matchmaking. Americans probably think he's now just another Sven Ottke type foreign nobody who fight nobodys. Any good work Ricky previously done has gone completely down the toilet. Forget Ricky, come on Cotto. It could have been so much better if he had progressed from the Tackie fight but he's done, his credibility is shot. Witters belt is worth 100 times more than Rickys plus however many defenses.
guys guys, yes witter looked good but can we honestly say if Battaglia was announced as hattons opponnent on the 12th rather than vilches that we wouldnt be slating him for fighting a sub standard opponent.
one rule for one and one for another
was a good win for witter and yes he should go in and fight some big names now but lets try and be fair and consistent to both fighters here.
Battaglia is no better an opponent than pedseron (thats not to the detriment of either of the foreigners) and everyone went mental when hatton v dennis was announced.

Did anyone hear Steve Bunce talking about Hatton last night. Did I hear him correctly when he said something like 'Hatton will be fighting South American danger flies!'
Surely not a pun about Antonio Mesquita (Mosquito
) who was touted as a potential opponent for Hatton.
I like the bit when he said Hatton will be making 82 defences of his WBU against people who haven't even been born yet. :P Classic!

cheap shots.
Credit to Junior it was a good performance but these double standards get on my tits.
I hope he does go in the ring with hatton and gets his head smashed through his arse. Cos believe me Hatton woudl be so UP for that fight I cant see anything else occuring.
The good thing is that this will spur hatton to insist on decent match ups further.

To be fair J, Witter HAD to take this fight to win the European title - a title that means A LOT more than Hatton's D list belt.J wrote:cheap shots.

If he'd turned down the Italian, he may as well have packed his bags.
He did the right thing - took the fight, won the belt, and blasted out his opponent quicktime.

they arent going to ruin each other..... a competitive fight would be good and unusual for both fightersAlexY2K4 wrote:I seem to be the only one, but I really don't want them to fight each other, at least not for a good while. Let them go their own ways, why not have two world class fighters instead of having to have one of them ruin the other?

Yes Witter looked good but he made the same mistakes he always has which could be down to over-confidence on his part..im not really sure tho'.
I really want to see him step it up and get some big fights this year he is an excellent talent and one of the only British fighters that actually excite me at the moment.

It's true that there's a double standard, however we slate Hatton for the opponents he fights and not Witter because all the doors are open for Hatton but he chooses or Warren chooses or both, not to step through them. Witter now has a top ten ranking and doors are open to him too so let's see where he goesJ wrote:cheap shots.
