Herbie hide at nottingham ??????

Post by damianhucker1 »

apologies if someone has said this already , i was just stunned to see herbie hide ringside during build up to froch v pascal , i read somewhere that he had agreed to fight enzo but suddenly his mobile was off and no one could get in touch , for him to then show up at nottingham rather than london surly shows a lack of balls in my opinion . when thaxton appeared it made sense but no idea why hide turned up.

That is nonsense!

He is a close friend of McIntosh, and was there the support his mate. Why the fornicate would he want to turn up at that sub-standard show at the Excel?

He has no obligation to fight Macca at three days notice, and in the end made the decision not to. Fair enough, whatever spin others might want to put on it.

no one said he had any obligation to do anything just couldnt understand it at the time but now you just mentioned mcintosh i just realised the link between them , just didnt see it before for some reason , probably due to too many beers. one thing to bear in mind is im a fan not some super human who remembers what city each and every fighter is from , ive no need to remember as im a fan of boxing not geography

Hide is taking Warren to court over some unpaid wonga. Hide was supposedly offered the Macca job at 3 days notice on the condition that Hide dropped the court case against Warren..... Hide said "No Deal"

(That's Herbies version of events anyway)

Fair enough- but I just got the impression that you were thinking that Hide had somehow "dropped out" of the Macca fight, and was therefore "avoiding" the London show.

Has Hennessey got any promotional interest in Hide???

I didn't think so but it would be one reason for Mick not to want a Hide Vs Enzo match to clash with Froch Vs Pascal.

I thought he signed him from Ohner?

Not sure...he is listed on the Hennessey website as being a Hennessey fighter but a recent story had him with Ohner.

Personally to add to the legend of Herbie I would hope he is with Ohner...imagine a fight between Enzo and Hide, Frank and Ohner would be poised to ring the bell at any moment (allegedly).

Said on ITV at his last fight that Mick has struck a deal with Ohner to promote Hide in the UK.

Hide was on the Hennessy website for years. Didn't Mick sign him only for Herbie to disappear to Canada, or something?

Not sure what the status is with Arena Box and Hennessy. If someone could enlighten us that would be great.

For some reason I seem to doubt Enzo Macc's and Frank's take on Hide 'pulling out after accepting' and I am inclined to believe Hide's version of events. But perhaps my cynicalism and ignorance have come to fruition here in this post.
