How can Pacman go DOWN in the p4p-list when wrecking through every weight class?
Pavlik is a couple of steps behind and Hatton is even ahead in the list!
Pavlik is a super showcase for a guy that cannot in any way be considered as a p4p-fighter. He went up a few pounds and even being the bigger man, he was totally dominated by a smaller (though very good) Hopkins. People where afraid of even putting Bhop in the same ring with the so called huge bomber Pavlik. The guy that made people in MW piss their pants when being knocked out.
Hatton has shown he does not carry higher weights well. All of his performances outside of the light welter division has been pretty bad.
Manny Pacquiao has gone through many weight classes and in short time shown he has both speed and power at every stop. He has beaten great boxers like Barrera and Morales and given Marquez at least as good as he got and even knocking him down 4 times in 2 meetings.
BoxRec's p4p list must be considered a joke, or at least very suspicious.

Boxrec's p4p list does not account for going through the weight divisions.
It shows the most excellent current boxers and tries to normalize the ratings in the various weight divisions for this purpose.

Re: P4P list a joke?
So if I fought 10 fights my whole career - going through just about every weight class and go KO1 against every weight class' best boxer, stopping at HW with knocking Wlad out in 10 seconds, I would probably have a lesser BoxRec p4p ranking than a fighter like Pavlik staying in MW all his career, losing only once in LHW. Sounds like a joke to me.

Its not really a P4P list. Pacquiao is being compared to Welterweights because that is where he is assigned.iron wrote:So if I fought 10 fights my whole career - going through just about every weight class and go KO1 against every weight class' best boxer, stopping at HW with knocking Wlad out in 10 seconds, I would probably have a lesser BoxRec p4p ranking than a fighter like Pavlik staying in MW all his career, losing only once in LHW. I'm also terribly confused about this BOXREC p4plists.... even a single idea, I can't find.
Re: P4P list a joke?
Someone has to explain how the P4P list is generated. Manny at 11 is nuts!

And how can Manny be #1 LWW when he's never fought at that weight?
Re: P4P list a joke?
There is a ratings thread at the top of the Current Scene. Read and post about this within that.
