It's now been revealed a man suffered a broken jaw in a gang attack after the Dazzo Williams-Roy Rutherford fight in Hereford on Wednesday night. The victim was attacked on a road close to the venue in Hereford.
The same man got in the ring after the Williams-Rutherford fight and allegedly hurled a racist remark at Rutherford, a black Coventry fighter.
The man was escorted from the ring and was, presumably, followed out of the arena by his assailants. The assault involved as many as eight men and Rutherford brought quite a few fans with him from his home city.
This type of thing allways happens at small hall shows. Tickets are cheap so you get allsorts attending, especially lot of footy fans, who have probably been getting tanked up all day, and head down to the show looking for a barney with rival supporters. Dickheads.
It was a bad beating. The man is still in hospital and police have yet to interview him, he was that badly beaten.
They haven't released his name either.
i suppose if you go around racially abusing people in public, you've got to expect trouble. Not that he deserves a beating that bad, but as the old saying goes, what goes around omes around (or something like that)
