Banned because of ISP?

I went to login , using my normal mobile broadband connection, and it wouldn't let me on the boards. The message I got was that my ISP was a banned ISP because of banned member "plopeater?"

What is that all about ? I've not posted her under a different name, and no-one but me uses this modem or computer.

I have been using this site regualrly for about a year, I have never had that message before before.

My account too is still active- I'm posting this on a back up dial up connection.

whicker can you please send me your mobile broadband ip address and I will remove the ban accordingly. I presume you're using a dynamic ip address (one that changes and has been used by other people before you) and it was previously used by 'plopeater'. cool, thanks- I've just mailed lawllb with my IP address for the broadband, better than dial up as it is free!

Odd, I swapped the port my mobile connect was plugged into, and it has given me a totally different ISP now (that works on this board). The banned one started with " 217. " this one starts with " 92. "

Whatever, anyway- seems to be working now again. I didn't know IP's (or ISPs as I called them) changed.

The ip ban has been lifted anyway. It was definitely a dynamic ip address
