Ricky Hatton Vs Dave 'Boy' Green, who wins?

Post by KOJOE90 »

I think this one could have the making of a little classic, they are both two aggresive come forward fighters, who both knew how to throw a mean hook to the body and head.

I feel they would be like two little bulls coming together, so head clashes and cuts may be a possibility.

Could the 'Hitman' shoot down the 'Fen Tiger'?

I think he could in about 8 brutally tough action packed rounds with plenty of give and take and blood and guts. I think Hatton has the more accurate shots, and the ability to box better with the jab if needed which I think would give him the edge in a tough one to call.

This is "Boxers of the Past," not "Protected Frauds of the Present." ;)

I suggest you repost this in the British Scene forum, Kojoe.

I'd go for Green to win this Joe. Dave boy was as unprotected as Ricky is wrapped in cotten wool.... the Green that beat John H Stracey and gave Carlos Palomino a great war would have been too much for Ricky who has never experienced the pressure that Davey would have put him under. Dave Boy Green wins by ko in about 8 rounds!. 8) 8) 8)

Due to his ultra cautious matches, we're not even sure how good Hatton is yet. But give him the Tackie fight - that was a very impressive performance, and makes me think he might have beaten Davey Boy. A bit more versatile maybe.
Would have been a war, no doubt about that.

Have to disagree about the Tackie fight being impressive. Tackie is tough and very brave but also very limited and remember he had Hatton badly hurt in the last round. Green was a different class altogether from Tackie.

can i throw two more names in the mix?

Hatton V Lloyd Honeyghan

Hatton V Colin Jones

I think Ricky would have got a hiding from both fighters.

Honeyghan and Jones were full blown Welterweights that would give them an auomatic advantage over light-Welter Hatton.
