Oh dear, I hope it isn't true, but wouldn't be one bit surprised. I think someone even tipped it last week on here.

In this case, Dutch, boxingtalk won't be wrong. Calzaghe's pullout has been on the cards for weeks.

Yes, but they don't contribute on here I'm afraid. Frankie's spies are always lurking.

And Calzaghe's excuse:
A bad back.
I am resisting the temptation to make a wise crack about his extra marital activities being to blame for the bad back ;)

I was chatting to a well known boxing personality a few days ago, who told me Calzaghe has a nickname within Sports Network. "Sick note."

I might get slated for this, but I think it is a wise decision. Calzaghe clearly hasn't had the greatest preparation. I honestly think he was booked for defeat.
I don't think anyone can really have a go at his handlers, Joe is certainly to blame. He clearly wouldn't have been himself - so why risk that underfeated record.
I'm dissapointed, but its all Calzaghe's fault and for me is a perminant black mark on his legacy. Biggest fight of his career and he went off the rails in the prepation.

Maxboxing are reporting it as a bad back. Considering they where showing the fight live, I would say they would be right on the money with the facts.

Yeah, but when you need to verify a record, where do you go? Where does everyone go?

IMO, The show should be called off, it has nothing going for it, i keep forgetting who Hatton is fighting. Of corse it wont be because Hatton shows make so much money.
