David Haye angers Klitschko brothers

Vitali Klitschko has accused David Haye of overstepping the mark after the British boxer was shown in a mock-up photo with the decapitated head of his brother Wladimir.

Wladimir proved he is the top heavyweight on the globe with a convincing win over Hasim Rahman in front of the Setanta cameras on Saturday night but a row has raged after the fight in Mannheim.

Vitali, who is set to take Haye on in London next June, has threatened to exact revenge for the picture as he will enter the ring with a "cold heart".

"I admit that I was shocked with what I saw in the Men’s Health magazine and my wife even felt unwell," he told the Russian media.

"It is difficult to describe my feelings at the moment. There is David Haye on the photo laughing with the head of my brother.

"I came to David of course and said that it was too blatant and that he overstepped the mark. But, as a response, I got the words that he would beat my brother and then me.

"I will reply for my brother. He must pay for this photo. I seldom feel inclined to fight but, this time, I will enter the ring with a cold heart.

"You know lots of people said that they would knock my brother and me out. But it is well known what happened to them, the same would happen with Haye."

ooh eck, they don't do the Russian giant bad guy very well do they.

"My wife was even unwell"

Is it because she asked for a cuddle and a bunk up but you just kept her at arms length for 12 threes?

I love Haye, he is a true warrior, world class for sure, but Vitali will turn him into a jigsaw puzzle.

The Klitschko's are most likey in on it. It's just to promote the fight. Expect to see many things like these.

Does anyone know if Haye's no-show at the press conference for the Maca fight was contrived for publicity?

The picture is fairly tasteless... though not that big a deal.

Can't help thinking David has chosen the wrong brother to fight though....

Sports Network shifted the press conference to an hour earlier and neglected to inform Haye in a timely manner, then criticised him for being late.

While it was a bit brash on Haye's part to go to that limit, it worked for him, because before none of the Klitschko's showed an interest in Haye, constantly saying "Beat a top ten man first", or "Back to the end of the line".

While his win over Barrett may have not proved much, to what he could do against a bigger man like the Klitschko's, Haye is just about the best damn self promoted fighter I've seen since Muhammad Ali. He knew how to get to the Klitschko's, and now he's getting what he wants.

Question is: is it more than what he is asking for?

I realise that was the story they put out, but was it a stunt to make the press conference interesting, or was it genuine?

Definitely genuine. Haye was pissed off that Wazza was screwing him around and decided to stick two fingers up to Wazza and the Sports Network brigade. He then stole one million pounds from the red cheeked one on the Saturday, exposing his Welsh hero in the process

I thought it was less than 1 million.

If it really was to stick up two fingers to Wazza then I suggest that its true effect was probably to sell the fight more and make more money for all involved.

It was genuine. I was supposed to go to the press conference for a newspaper, but when I arrived at the advertised time, it was already being wrapped up.
