I know I always say it.....BUT....

Why can't fights just keep going until either:

a) a knockout occurs (or serious vision impairing laceration)

b) one fighter gives best

or

c) one corner throws in the towel

??

Points decisions are far too inconsistant.

Partly because many fighters are too brave for their own good and a fight 'to the finish' would result in more ring fatalities IMO also TV would never allow it as it would not fit into thier oh-so important schedukes and we can't have 'Live underwater basket weaving' from Peru delayed can we?

There's not many people who can ignore their survival instincts for too long, and for those few that can their cornermen will show compassion and throw in the towel.

'Fatigue makes cowards of us all.'

Scheduling is a pain in the arse I admit. Yesterday, for instance, the Moto GP (my favourite sport) got royally humped by Eastenders of all things. I appreciate most people in the country are soap addicts, but nevertheless I was livid.

If you watch Eastenders long enough you might see some Motor action, characters tend to get run over now and again. :D

i agree with joe, the deaths and serious injurys would spiral, and a decent size card could take a week.
jeez, why dont you go the whole hog and get rid of the gloves and throw a few lions in there for good measure. :D

And Johnny Nelson would've only made one defence, and it'd still be going on now.
