I think Haye may have picked his time.

By the time the fight takes place Klit will have had one fight in nearly five years. At 37/38 it's gonna hurt.

Sam Peter is a different bag to Haye and a much more comfortable opponent in terms of pace for an ageing fighter. Haye's single punch power is often talked up - what is sometimes overlooked is that he connects very quickly and often.

Klit looks old recently. He is not going to look any younger next summer. Haye shocks him I think.

He's been well managed since Thompson - I think the team know exactly what they're doing.

Come to think of it, I've always considered Haye to be the most exciting active fighter, because of his skill, power, take on all comers attitude, ability to go down in fights and come back, the way he carries himself when things go wrong like his interview after Thompson. I am realising that I can't really think of anybody in history who was as exciting with the possible exceptions of Nigel Benn & Muhammad Ali.

For me, Naseem Hamed - most exciting fighter Ive ever seen. No one touches him.

Look what happened when Haye got hit on the chin against Barrett, and look how many shots it took to get him out of there, then take a look at the shots Lennox Lewis landed on the button when he fought Vitali and he didn't budge, taking this into account along with the height, reach & approximately 2 stone weight advantage I only see one outcome and that is a Klitschko KO

Good summary. Haye choose the wrong brother. Vitali took some THUNDEROUS punches from Lennox. But with boxing you never know.

Perhaps Lewis-Holyfield, but it ended up being such a let down. The benefit of hindsight makes it hard to admit, but you're probably right about that one.

Morales Barrera - yes, but no Brit involved and no chance of a David & Goliath. I just like Haye so much. He has such a big pair of nuts.

I was extremely confident that Mayweather would beat Hatton convincingly so no way on that one, I'm looking forward to Pac-Hatton far more.

Calzaghe-Kessler - I was fairly confident of a Calzaghe win, and it was after years of record padding, the exact opposite of David Haye. Calzaghe-Eubank got me into the sport.

It does depend upon whether you're a person who is envisaging a Haye win, which would be monumental against the true Heavyweight champ rather than a paper champion like Ruiz.

I was very excited for Calzaghe vs Kessler.

I don't think there's currently a fighter I really feel for at the moment, so I'm generally just watching because I enjoy boxing, not because I'm emotionally attached to one of the fighters. Actually, I was sad about Cotto, Mijares and Pavlik losing this year. They're 3 fighters I really enjoying watching when they're winning.

I am excited about Haye vs Klitschko. Maybe a 7/10 at the moment. It will no doubt increase with a good build up.

Holyfield v Tyson I, was the fight which excited me most without a doubt, not beforehand as i thought it was a mismatch - but I was literally jumping up and down on the furniture during the fight and was absolutely out of breath when he finally stopped him.

From a british point of view, yes, this is up there.

In the grand scheme of things, the only reason I can think of, that would make this fight remotely stand out on the world scene, is that the sport's premier division is in dire straits and this is as good a fight as any to shake things up and bring a little excitement back to it. Of course, that's assuming Haye can be competitive against V.Klit, which I guess, adds to its interest.

Haye isn't really regarded that highly in the states, that's pretty obvious from reading the other board, he hasn't lost yet though (at top level) and I'm sure the possible 'train wreck' aspect of Haye being clattered out of there in a round, Khan style, will draw interest.

For me though, it's about as big a fight as I can imagine, or remember (in recent times). Vitali is the Michael Jordan of upright mechanical fighters, Haye's shone against lesser robots, and I think if he can get his shots off flush, in combination, he can KO him. At the same time I can see Haye being in all kinds of bother from glancing blows, Vitali's jab will probably rob him of his senses.

It's an all or nothing fight for Haye, there's absolutely no way he goes the distance with Vitali and if he cant hurt him, he loses.

Haye's shown some real courage taking this fight, it pisses me off no end when I read shite about him trying to cash out before he's found out. Haye's got a fan's mentality and the balls to make it happen, for that reason I'm 100% behind him and that combined with the bleak prospect of winning makes this an epic fight, for a fan.

Yeah, I was totally sure Lewis would win that fight, it was a mismatch really, Tyson didn't even really want to be in that ring, he was passive and totally past it compared to the fighter he had been in the 80's, and it was actually quite a sad spectacle watching him being torn to pieces - his corner should have pulled him out, because after 3 rounds, it was clear he had nothing to offer - except a very durable target for Lewis to tee off on.
