Lee Evans used to be a boxer but I think it may have been just as an amateur because I can't find any pro record for him.

Ken went straight into this after his clash with Mike Baldwin he was nigh on 50 at the time, Calzaghe said he was shot but has signed to fight him March in a special attraction on the undercard of DLH's comeback versus Lena Zavaroni.

The guy who played 'Zammo' in Grange Hill was a decent amatuer boxer, think he had hopes of having a career at it, but was involved in some accident that stopped him.

A pal of mine boxed a school boy semi final against a kid called Terry wogan. He got beat. Wogan went on to face Joe Calzaghe in the final.

I always wanted to be this guy growing up. Didn't realise he's lost a few pounds and fought some of our best.

Tommy Gunn,
The bloke you're thinking of is Glen Murphy.
He was a British Schoolboy Champ and I think did box pro.
He was from a family of boxers.
His dad fought, Terrance Murphy, and also his uncles Joe Lucy and Eddie Wright.
He was also a decent footballer. He was on Charlton's schoolboy books and we're the same age. This is where I recall him from with my footie days.
By the way, he got the MBE last year.
