Why? It was one old man vs. another. Hector was just better that's why he won. I've always said thatJCS wrote:You really proved you are a tool by even mentioning this bout.Elton John wrote:Hector Camacho KO 5 Ray Leonard

hmm. interesting. you exclude post-peak performances for Norris. and yet not for certain other fighters. Windup boy, at least be consistent in your little windups.Elton John wrote:I would exclude the times he lost on foul or was past his prime.ringsider wrote:So then all those who beat Terry Norris are great?![]()

Let's face it-Norris without the fouls was nigh unbeatable. Jackson just had his number but the rest were as a result of Norris himself. That wasnt the real Norris you saw in there. Getting careless or fighting the wrong fight cost him. When he was right and followed the plan as outlined by his braintrust, Norris would CRUISE to victory every time ala, the Leonard fight, the rematch with Brown.Counter-puncher wrote:

And who cares about the last couple fights? Terry was double checking to see what he had left.

He was winning wasn't he? And a huge favorite on top of that.Counter-puncher wrote:that wasn't the real Leonard you saw in there with Norris.
11 years without a loss and Terry beat him-no sweat!
As I said previously, Terry was able to overcome adversity and Leonard wasn't. Terry took Ray's best in rounds one and two but Ray couldnt do the same. That's why Terry won and Leonard lost.

No. A losing streak is PROOF POSITIVE the fighter is no longer fit to be in the ringCounter-puncher wrote:Bottom Line: Terry Norris L TKO Mullings 9Elton John wrote:Bottom Line: Terry Norris UD Ray Leonard

Now, how does that compare with 11 straight years of wins over the decade's best? It doesn't.
As for Ray's loss to Hector Camacho; part of it can be blamed on the layoff, part of it due to Hector and his aggressive strategy and the fact he was out to destroy Leonard, and let's not forget the kind of condition he was left in after the carnage from his last fight.
