poor fool, and he had a chance to make history for Scotland & probably Britain too, yah can't blame Gilmour though!

I'm pretty sure he's a plasterer by trade. I mean nothing wrong with that but why would you not want to pull in an extra couple of thousand a year for a few fights. I mean its not like he's asked to cripple himself to make weight. He just had to stay of the bridies and the irn bru for a few days 3 or 4 times a year.

I know it's not an easy way to make a living, getting punched in the face, but Millarvie was, by all accounts, a decent talent. I can't criticise anyone who doesn't fancy being a professional fighter, but Millarvie had the backing to make a decent fist of it. It's disappointing that he seemingly can't motivate himself to at least give it a go.

That said, it's not me who has to do the training and take the shots. It's strange that he got himself to the level he was at and just give up though. As Gav says, surely it's worth having a go, if only to make a bit of cash?
