this surprises me
matt skelton has been knocked out before
according to his k1 record.any pictures?
the guy who did it is called Jerome le Banner...
he is the biggest puncher in K1 and throws every shot to knock someones head off.... As k1 is only 3 rounds (5 sometimes) they always go all out from the bell so KOs are more likely.
Le Banner is 19 1/2 stone of muscle and a couthpaw too...
He has knocked pretty much everyone out in his time, including Cro Cop and Hoost

check out his knockout of Gary Goodridge with a Jab:

his chin isnt that great!!!! He would be a Tommy Morrison type, KO or be KO's, he also isnt built for 12 rounds... too many trips to the chemist.beduff wrote:ive seen le banner fight, didnt he fracture his elbow joint?why with such punch power has he never become a pro boxer?
He hasnt been the same since breaking his left forearm blocking an Ernesto Hoost kick
Remy Bonjasky is the best at the moment. A lot of the really great guys are either retired, past it.J wrote:rennie bonjarski (spelling) french or dutch i believe is the best Ive seen of late though Ernesto hoost (dutch)is widely regarding as the grandmaster.
Jerome Le Banner

actually did anyone see fight nite - k1 last night on eurosport, I flicked over and it was aike a freak show some 8 foot brazilian bloke against a little japanese guy, (its not akebono we have covered him) shit what was his name, anywayu he was freakin huge. Slow as all hell but christ you wouldnt want to get hit by him.
Was it just a boxing match, or was it K-1. I saw a fight on KO-TV in the early hours of Friday, it was from Australia I think. It sounds similar to the fight you were describing, A big muscular 10 foot tall guy with a bald head, against a 3 foot asian looking guy. I've been trying to find the big fella's record but I couldn't remember his name.
Montanah SilvaJ wrote:well it thought they were kicking but I only caught the end of it, yeah he was huge total freak show.
you could be right kevo.

there are freaks in K1 just as there are freaks in boxing (butterbean & valuev for example) but the real K1 fighters ie Ignashov, Hoost, Le Banner are real hard men.
To suggest they wouldnt be tough enough for real boxing is ignorance of the highest degree. The punishment you take in a full contact thai boxing fight is incredible.... elbow and knee strikes to the head!!!!!!
K1 has turned into a freak show over the last few years but there are still lots of great athletes out there.....

K-1 MAX is a lot better that regular K-1, MAX is for the lighter fighters and has less freaks.
Ive seen a picture somewhere of LeBanner standing next to Don King, he signed a contract with him I think but nothing came of it. Another thing with LeBanner, they don't test for steroids in K-1. LeBanner is a big suspect, he's 6'4 260lbs of solid muscle. Its incredibly hard to be that big and that ripped without other help. He doesn't train that hard. Bob Sapp fights for K-1, thats how I know they don't test, also some other stuff.
