Someone slap this man!!

But despite Holyfield's greater mobility, 35-year-old Valuev edged the fight to take the decision.
What in the name of the wee man in the manger was this clown watching?

He probably didn't watch the fight. Just read quick report. There's no substance to that article. It doesn't say anything about what happened in the fight.

Yeah, Valuev edged it on the scorecards numerically. However if the writer knew that Holyfield had greater mobility but still deserved to lose he's definitely asking for a backhander.

The only excuse you could make for Valuev even being in the fight, let alone winning a single round, was because he's so damn big it appeared that he was actually doing something, when all he done was stalk Holyfield around the ring like the oaf he is and once in a blue moon throw that slow jab of his.

BBC is used as a main resource for so many people and prides itself on being up to the minute and getting stuff up online asap. In other words, this guy would probably not have seen the bout as Asterix points out but would have scoured google for a quick report, quotes and the bare stats so he could throw something up.

I'm pretty sure when I checked the result this morning Valuev had edged the fight to take the decision :o

Well done, Valuev. Sounds suspiciously like he held back. I like him.

Did you see the fight Bennie? He wasnt holding back due to some sort of reverential respect for the old warrior Holyfield, he simply COULD'NT get off because of Holyfield's continuous movement. It was a terrible fight but there was no suggestion that the big lump was taking it easy on old man Vander..

I thought Holyfield was terribly negative. Never thought I'd see him run like that. Lot of movement, but he just stayed miles out of range.

It was close, but the decision wasn't as outrageous as some believe

If I could be bothered I would rewatch the fight but without commentary this time (the americans only gave valuev one round and one even of the first ten if I remember correctly.) Fortunately though I have better things to do with my life..
