Which was the best ever fight involving a british fighter?
There have been a few, but for me nigel Benn against Mcllellan was an all time classic.
Intense from start to finish.

Brodie vs Chi was a cracker.
Arthur vs Gomez (granted a domestic fight).
Naz vs Kelly was good (tho a little overated imo).
eubank vs thompson 1 & 2. (thompson was rarely in a bad 1).
Benn vs Eubank/McClellen.
For me its gotta b Audley vs Williams, cant wait 4 the rematch!

i think the best fight i have seen in a british ring is wayne rigby v michael ayres - to and fro action all the way and a brilliant ending.
also williams v potter has to be up there along with benn v mcclellan.
the single best punch i've ever seen was eubank's uppercut against watson, which had such terrible consequences. even so - for him to throw such a perfect, powerful shot after being knocked down and being so tired was unbelievable.

Lewis v Klitschko
Thompson v Sellars

Benn v McClellan by some distance.
If it hadn't had the ending it did, that would have been loved in the way GattivWard, MoralesvBarrera etc are.

In Jin Chi v Brodie 1
Moore v Jones 3
Lewis v Klitschko
Woods v Hoye
Woods v Johnson 3
Some of Davie Walkers scraps were edge of the seat stuff too.
But for me the very clear winner as it is with a lot of people has to be - Benn v McClellan.

It was a fantastic victory but a sh*t fight to watch - the intrigue of whether ricky could do it or not was definitely there - but horrible horrible fight in my opinion!!!stevieb_8006 wrote:Cant believe i 4got Hatton vs KT.

He was taken out on a stretcher I think.....banjo wrote:Good shout that was a cracker and if I remember correctly Sanchez was out for quite a bit at the end wasn't he?Captain Hook wrote:Naz v Sanchez
Was only four rounds (off top of my head) but he knocked Hamed down twice, I think only one was counted, and Naz had him rocking several times before a peach of a three-punch combination....
Thrilling fight....much better than the Kelley one IMO, that was a circus.

If you have never seen it get hold of a copy of Pat Cowdell v Salvador Sanchez.
There you have a very classy, British warrior pushing a genuine Hall of Fame all time great to the limit.
All hail the Warley Warrior!
Honourable mention goes to Billy Hardy for his first challenge against Orlando Canizales. Never saw the fight - only saw their second fight when the heat (and Orlando's brilliance) got to Billy - but to take Orlando Canizales to a SD says it all.

How about Cowdell-Sanchez? Cowedell pushed the great Sanchez all the way, putting up a very strong performance, even if he he was the loser at the final bell.

McLellan - BEnn summed up all that boxing is about, good and bad.
