Howdy, Colin:
You entered or tweaked/edited the April 64, 1933 bout between Firpo and Dave Shade:

I have an April 7, 1933 newspaper account that mentions a Young Firpo-George Manley bout at Portland, Oregon. I take it this is a different Young Firpo. Thate article reads:
The Portland boxing commission had today awarded Young Firpo of Burke, Idaho, a decision over George Manley of Denver, on a foul in their light heavyweight fight here Tuesday night. Referee Tom Loutitt ruled the blow fair and awarded the fight to Manley on a knockout. Firpo pleaded a foul and was sustained by the boxing commission. The commission fined Manley $280 for "insubordination."
Just trying to keep my "Firpos" straight.
Colin: Henry (Young) Firpo
Yes the Firpos are difficult.
The bouts with Dave Shade are in Shade's record from the 1971 RRB. Henry Firpo, who we have as Henry (Young) Firpo, has his record in the 1941 Ring Record Book. Interestingly (or more correcltly distressingly) it has the first bout but not the second. I have never seen Henry referred to as Young Firpo and I think we should remove that part from his record.
We do have a Young Firpo, Wild Bull of Burke. The Everlast Record Book of 1932 gives Henry's date of birth but unfortunately not his birthpalce or hometown, however he does not seem to have fought in this area (around Burke) so I think at this time they are separate fighters. We still have a lot of research to do regarding this and since it was 70 years ago it may be difficult to fully sort it out.

OK, I have sorted out the Young Firpo, Wild Bull of Burke's record to some extent. At least I have removed the lightweight Young Firpo's bout and added some from the 1933 Everalst Record Book where he is Young (Joe) Firpo, and I have entered him as this. It gives us one more Young Firpo but at least I think we have his fights correct, the Wild Bull of Burke's fights correct and those of Henry Firpo correct - I have removed the Young from his name. I can find no eveidence that he ever used it or was referred to as Henry (Young) Firpo and I think it just adds to the confusion. I'll try and chase contemporary reports or these fighters tonight.
