Only way we can meet Italy in the final is if we win our group and they win theirs or if we both come 2nd. I think a semi-final match up is more likely.

its all so close these days...

surely France cannot win there 3rd big tourney in 6 years.... things just dont happen like that.

Portugal have home advantage which could make a huge difference!!!

Truth is there are no weak teams this time, well maybe Switzerland.

I mean Latvia have beaten Turkey and Sweden in there last few games..... fine form

If we make it through the 1st round, it's likely England will get Portugal or Spain in the knockout stage.
Portugal should do well.........but France have to be favorites.

i think England has a good chance to win the group, they can beat France. Italy has the easiest group, they win the group for sure. the group with spain and portugal is wide open. The Netherlands are the other top favourite. Regarding the players, they have the best. germany sucks this time.

A good outside bet will be the Czech's or one of the Scandanvian teams. Good squads on all four sides.

the french squad is age`n on the quiet, the likes of thuram, desailly, lizarasu etc are well into their thirties. i think everyone when saying france is going to win are basing this statement on the form of henry and viera.
well imo viera wasnt the best central midfield player in the prem last year or the year before for that matter. it wasnt lampard either it was steven gerrard, and henry, while excellent, isnt the one man army he is sometimes portrayed, in the champions league quarter final against chelsea he was anonamous. he fades when the pressures on.
the french keeper is like the one between the sticks for england.......a fornicate up waiting to happen.
most big international football tournaments are won by the home side and portugal have some good players including figo, rui costa and deco (he of porto) but for the first time in my life i actually think england have got a good chance. if ericson stops fornicating around with this diamond that is.

Yeah, France are ageing - but so are Portugal. I think France have changed their team an added depth to that aging defence. I don't think Desailly will be playing often, if he is then the coach needs shooting. It was like in 2002 playing Lebouf and leaving Gallas home.

I think the likes of Gallas and Boumasong will make the team this time.

i hope it is that pairing, gallas is really quick but he`s a ballwatcher.
i think if england go out and play at a high tempo the french will struggle.
there`s too many people in the french side that dont work when not in possession, look at zidane for madrid, if he loses it to a fella two yards away he just walks off. pires? never rated him, he`s lucky he plays for arsenal because if he played for villa or boro he`d be shit. and the ref wouldnt blow up every time he fell on his arse for no reason.
if sven tells beckham to stay out wide and just cross the fornicating thing instead of thinking he`s a centre mid player, which he is not, and lets lampard and gerrard loose in centre mid against viera and makalele, i can see us getting something out the game.
james is a concern, he waits for the big games to fornicate up.

For me, the tournament has been tainted by those cheating bastard Russians.

They were caught playing a drugs cheat in the play-off against Wales and those spineless pricks at UEFA let them off scot-free.

All Rio Ferdinand did was go shopping instead of pissing into a jar and look what he got.

I've watched every tournament since 1972 - I won't be watching this one.

I've always thought that David Walliams and Matt Lucas should do a Euro 2004 version of Little Britain with them dressing up the "Yeah, I know" character as Rio Ferdinand.

Lamphey, yeah it was a bit gutted about Wales, but it might be a blessing, with Bellamy, Hartson and a few others unavailable I think we would have got a kicking which would have done our confidence no good.

We will be in Germany 2006, might not win the group but we are strong enough to beat anyone of the likely play off teams.
