Come on Mr Warren I believe in you.
Come on Mr Warren I believe in you.
Deliver a world title fight for Choi Tseveenpurev.
If you didn't know Mr Warren, Cristobal Cruz is fighting Cyril Thomas for the IBF title in France, Choi is currently ranked 7 in the devision, but the top 2 positions are not ranked.
Choi could beat these comfortably enough. Thomas anhilated by Nicky Cook many moons ago and hasn't been great since, and Cruz is a faded fighter.
Come on Mr Warren, deliver a proper world title fight for 2009 - against a champion, not just some vacant title. This is the IBF Featherweight championship, held by a pretty average champion.

I doubt Choi sells many tickets being a Mongolian based out of Oldham.
For that reason I wouldnt have thought Warren will be lobbying the governing bodies too hard.
'Boxonomics' come into play I am afraid..

Choi is a charasmatic chap, though, and an exciting fighter. I'm sure that he has the potential to at this stage at least be the main support in a decent match up.
Re: Come on Mr Warren I believe in you.
I'll vote for this too. I'd love to see Choi get a chance.
Re: Come on Mr Warren I believe in you.
I see the point about boxonomics but even so this is chance to get a world title 'in house' for Warren. Having said that, is it the IBF who demand mandatories every 9 months?
Re: Come on Mr Warren I believe in you.
I think we need to be consistent here, though. Who has he beat that comes close to world championship level? For sure, he looked very good against Derry Matthews, but this along can't exactly be said to justify a world title shot.
OK, there is this talk of him being the "who needs him" club, but looking at his record he HAS lost a few , I'm not sure really if he is even close to world level- he needs some more well matched fights!

Re: Come on Mr Warren I believe in you.
Whicker, I agree - but then he is not the only one. Just what has Cruz and Thomas done to be fighting for the title?
Re: Come on Mr Warren I believe in you.
Indeed- I just think it would be good to see Choi against a top level domestic or European featherweight, rather than going right for the world title.stujones wrote:Whicker, I agree - but then he is not the only one. Just what has Cruz and Thomas done to be fighting for the title?
Re: Come on Mr Warren I believe in you.
Maybe a hint of sarcasm with my original post, but he harps on that he is Europe's number #1 promoter and would have delivered for Calzaghe, Hatton etc had they stuck with him.E wrote:STu - you believe in Warren??? Lets see him deliver for Choi - otherwise, what is the point of him having Choi on the books?
Re: Come on Mr Warren I believe in you.
he will only deliver a WBO title shot for Choi forget the IBF, Warren doesn't do mandatories!
Re: Come on Mr Warren I believe in you.
Yeah, but how many ppl even know how to say his name, never mind know who he is?
While we're at it, what's Jackson Asiku doing...

Re: Come on Mr Warren I believe in you.
Choi hasn't really done a huge amount to warrant a genuine title shot but at the very least they should have been building on the Derry Matthews win with regular fights against progressive opponents. Why has he not fought since April 08? It isn't injury because i've read he has been sparring a few fighters.
