Emerson fella, you seem to have your ear to the pavement with Top Rank. Any news on the venue. Last I heard was what I posted on the thread a week or two ago.

I quiet fancy going if it is New York

I wish I knew mate. I'm hearing MSG, but most boxing sites have Boardwalk so I'm as confused as you are. The former makes better business sense.

MSG would probably bring bigger crowds and more money. I know if it is MSG I'll go, but I don't feel like going to Boardwalk Hall.

I've asked someone at Top Rank about this. It's more likely to be Boardwalk Hall but it's not 100% confirmed. Boardwalk Hall would be cheaper and most of the Rican's would still make the trip from NY.

Philly or New Jersey is a good shout. I worked in Philly for a bit and there's some good boxing sites to see there; Blue Horizon, Frazier's sort of open gym, Rocky statue, Spectrum. It's only 1.5 hours on the train.

Well, there is New York. That's about 2 hours away or Philadelphia 1 hour away.

Thinking about it. If it's in AC i want to arrange a training trip to Frazier's Gym before they close the doors. I'm in touch with Marvis & i'm trying to find out if it would/could be open until the end of Feb. You never made it there did you?

Cheers mate, just checked and there is a good train link between Phily and AC, so it looks like one night in night in AC and three in Philly.

I didn't. Got to the Blue Horizon, but my mate wouldn't take me further in to the ghetto to Joe's gym. Keep me informed about this mate. I would like to go, if I can. I may need to tap you for Wlad v Arreola tix. Will let you know nearer the time. Happy New Year! :D

Am I being too hard on Jennings??

Good luck to him for getting the pay day - brilliant news - but that is as far as my enthusiasm goes for this fight.

if jennings uses his boxing ability he can dance cotto for 12 rounds and win on points just depends how much jennings wants it

I read on BS its MSG and Jennings injured his ankle but the fight is still on.

Cotto TKO 3rd round just like the last allegedly fighter that got overprotected and then went up against a top class opponent

You're right, it would be a massive upset if Jennings was to win this fight, but I don't think Jennings will lose too much sleep knowing you are seriously worried Spud. The only thing you know about boxing was when you got splattered by Paul King. So you're not exactly an expert, are you Spud.

Why are we so worried? Jennings is a world champion isn't he???

Seriously, he's got a helluva task but nothing is impossible. Part of me thinks that Cotto will just walk right though him but IF Cotto is slightly off his game then Jennings could make it relatively competitive for a while.

Too many people are making Cotto sound like an unbeatable beast. He was hurt badly by Riccardo Torres and DaMarcus Corley, and is coming off a severe beating by Antonio Margarito. If Jennings is going to do it then now is the time.

Wish him all the luck in the world, seems like a nice guy and has decent skills.... but lets not forget he was hurt by Mutley and Pryce - Cotto is going to anhilate him and he doesn't have the power to hurt Cotto.

Pavlik-Rubio Update!

By Gabriel F. Cordero

When Marco Antonio “Veneno” Rubio of Mexico challenges WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik on February 21st, the bout will take place in Pavlik’s hometown at the 7,000-seat Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown, Ohio. Pavlik will begin training Monday at the new Southside Boxing Club in Youngstown. Rubio, the official WBC mandatory and rated WBO #3 is presently training at the Municipal Gym in the mountains of Temoaya, Mexico at more than nine thousand feet above sea level. Tickets are expected to go on sale soon.

------------------------------------------------------------

Does this mean Jennings v cotto is happening in Youngstown?
