Farnell taken to hospital on a stretcher!

Eugenio Monteiro did him in 10 rounds. Farnell left the ring on a stretcher. Looks bad.

Arnie used to be a mate of mine, I hope he's alright. You shouldn't take 'World' title fights at a weeks notice. Shame.

Sounds like he's relatively ok thankfully. Concussion they said, so not as bad as it looked on the stretcher for awhile.

Good luck to him, that was a tough loss.

I wasn't surprised when Paul Dempsey gave us the news, Farnell looked out of it on the stool when the results were being announced.

Lets hope he's okay and can come back, well done to Monterio though good victory, good performance.

A shame for Farnell, he had just got things back on track, and then this happens to him.

I know he isn't the most gifted of fighters, but his comitment to the game by stepping upto the plate for allegedly has probably finished his career.

Yeah, and I take my hat off to him for that and hope he's okay. Although, as Barry and Glenn said, he should have said No to fighting tonight. Brave lad though.

I've got a lot of time for fighters like Farnell (no crowd's ever going to be short changed with him) so hopefully it's as sky said, just a concussion, and nothing more serious. I'm not quite sure where his career goes from here though.

I think that the reason Anthony was up for this fight at short notice was because Tommy Mac has beat the guy.

Arnie was always a bit too strong for Thomas when they were both at the same gym. I'm quite sure he will have gone into the fight with a 'if Tommy can beat, I'll hammer him' mentality. Big mistake.

It's three years since Anthony left M&C, McDonagh has done a lot of growing up since then (physically and mentally), and obviously he doesn't get tagged as often.

Didn't he fight quite recently though? COuld have been the reason he looked a bit sharper as the fight went on.

A fighters job is to stay in shape all the time, not to relax and let it all go after a fight (i.e. going out on the piss etc)

Farnell really looked out of shape. His hardman reputation in Manchester is really dented now. Monteiro also lives there.

He's a bit of a dark horse Monterio, he now holds win over Gilbert Eastman, Takaloo and now Farnell.

I wonder why Sky didn't interview him?

Can't say this surprises me. Farnell is very limited but has a big heart and usually relies on his aggression and fitness to get him through, so really it's foolhardy for him to be allowed to take fights when not fit because without his conditioning Anthony hasn't got much else going for him except his gameness. I dislike that tinpot title but feel sorry for the kid he shouldn't have been in there in the first place!.
Why didn't they at least just put him in to a 'non title' fight?...... rash decistion by the promoter has probably cost Anthony his career.... theres only so many times you can come back!...

I got back from my weekend away to find that my video had only recorded the Farnell fight up until 1:00 to go in the 9th round....

Was he knocked down or stopped on his feet? I'm sure he'll get an oppurtunity to bounce right back from this, in fact I wouldn't be surprised to seem him in a vacant WBU fight in his first fight back.
