That referee is wank!

Post by bennie »

Come back Micky Vann, all is forgiven. That South African referee for the Hatton-Vilches fight is wank. He ruined the Shea Neary-Andy Holligan fight a few years ago, and also did his best to spoil the Eamonn Magee-Jimmy Vincent fight in December.
I pray he has a good night.

Sorry, Warren blew his top at Adam Smith when Smithy mentioned "other options" for Hatton if Warren failed to deliver bigger opponents. Warren also slagged the ref.

GOD I HATE WARREN

He says "yes in October it will be Harris or Spadafora"

You said tonight would be Sharmba Mitchell! You said Ricky's last fight would be a big one! You've been saying it for years! How can you lie to our faces just like that? AHHHHHHHHHH

Who are we dealing with in this division? You got guys like Harris, Urkal, WITTER and Mitchell. Now these guys are not Oscar De La Hoya or Roy Jones. They are not massive superstars who demand millions of dollars to fight. Are we to believe that Frank who's possibly the 3rd biggest promoter in the world can't deliver even one of these guys, maybe even Lovemore N'Dou who is a possibly another step back though. Frank can get these guys from South America at a cut price so he rakes in money from the show.

He said Ricky has fought good opponents. He's fought Ben Tackie coming off a loss and Eamonn Magee who is decent but not great, thats it. Cotto has fought about 16 less fights and he's probably gonna challenge for a title soon.

Well done McGuigan, he's just said about Spadafora not really being good enough and thats the truth.

Hatton never looked like budging the Argie (but still won a landslide). He admitted he was flat afterwards and did a lot of moaning in his corner during the fight, which was surprising. I got the distinct impression Hatton, as with Pedersen, didn't really want to fight an opponent he couldn't get 'up' for.
The referee didn't help Hatton's performance. He was too close to the action and allowed the Argie to mess him around.
Call me cynical, but I also sensed an atmosphere between Hatton and Warren during the post-fight interview. The body language wasn't good between them and Warren blew his top when Smithy insensitively mentioned other options for Hatton if the promoter failed to secure a big fight next time out. I wonder if Smithy knows something.

Our refs might not be the best scorers (when its only them scoring the fight) but they are the best in the business. Ian John Lewis is probably the best around at the moment, only one mare he had and that was Crag Docherty's first Commonwealth defence.

Speaking of bad refering involving Shea Neary, I just recently watched his war with Mickey Ward again and I have to say the refereeing was attrocious in that one (Mickey Vann??). I mean when Neary went down for the first time in the 8th, the ref asked him to come forward, no response, he then asked him asked him to raise his gloves, no response - yet allowed the fight to continue.

Mr Warren talk about hot head. He flipped at the mention of Ricky Hatton and 'other options'. Hatton looked a bit pissed off. Im just waiting now for him to announce the opponent as Ted Bami :D

Frank can obviously afford to pay top fighters, after all he did put in a bid for Jones-Tarver 1 didn't he? It was somewhere around the 6 million mark.

But then James should have been sent off later. All three subs were used so an outfield player would have had to go in goal.
