Its the only fight out there after HATTONS performance last night.
Struggling with a second rate opponent.Witter would have taken that guy out early I am sure.

I thought Ricky looked flat last night, just like I thought he was against Pederson as well. How can he motivate himself to train when he's fighting these guys. I was raving about Ricky on some forums after he beat Tackie. I thought the only way was up but he's gone backwards.
I doubt theirs a problem with the Witter fight now. I mean Witter has no real place to go. No-one on the world scene is really gonna want to fight him. Hatton is his best option and he says he'll be reasonable with the money and I believe him. This fight can be made without Showtime. fornicate Showtime, just make the fight. Even get a copy of Juniors last fight and send it to Jay Larkin and see what he thinks.

Witter is now in the driver’s seat as he is the EBU champ which guarantees world recognition.
It’s is likely he will be defending his title with other top Euro fighters like Urkal, Branco, Koltenik,
& M’Baye. Wins over them can only increase his stature.
Meanwhile (Like I’ve said before.) Frank has painted Ricky & himself into a corner with no “names” available to fight but Spadafora who really hasn’t done anything in the light welters.
From what I can see, everybody in England (Including Ricky & Jr.) but Frank wants to see the two matched together.
If they fought for the European & Commonwealth titles, the winner would surely be considered worthy of a shot at any of the world titles.
IMO, Mr. Warren is not keeping his obligations as manager to Ricky or as a promoter to the British fans by standing in the way of this fight.

Hatton was clearly struggling with his fitness last night, his work rate dropped off notably in the second half of the fight, and he was repeatedly
The Hatton that beat Pedersen last time out would have stopped Vilches, he had him in trouble several times in the first 4 rounds, but couldn't maintain the pace.
I also noticed that his jab more or less dissapeared after four rounds, the sign of an arm weary fighter. I think that was one of the worst Hatton performances I've seen for a long while.

Was Hatton under the weather? Did he have to shift too much weight?
They were saying he only had half his usual preparation time for this fight. How can this happen? He's had 36 fights and all of a sudden he makes a balls up of the whole thing. Sounds like a bunch of amatuers.
Anyone can have an off night but it seems as though this whole event was a farce, especially with Farnell's disaster and Calzage's problems. No wonder FW was so grumpy!

Hatton never wanted to fight Vilches, he was pissed off with Warren that he had such a shit opponent, and I think he threatended to pull out. Once Calzaghe went, then Warren would have had to ensured that Hatton fought, and perhaps he enforced their contract to prevent him from pulling out and thus the whole show collapsing.
As a consequence, Hatton doesn't make it into the gym early as usual, and spends a lot of his gym time losing weight rather than building strength and stamina.
