Haye and the Klitschko's

Post by Dioufy »

Does anybody know what is actually going on here? First, we get told that Vitali wants the fight for June 2nd, but then he opts for his mandatory (Gomez) - fair enough, perhaps a fight could take place in September, but for some reason, I can't see that happening with Maskeav going to be the new WBC mandatory. Now, there's Wlad, who has to fight Povetkin by September or he's stripped of his IBF belt. That leaves a big gap to fill come May-June, but I've heard Wlad wants to fight Arreola, a guy who hasn't done much apart from beat Walker (who put him down) and Witherspoon (who I had the lowly Kendrick Releford 15-9-2 beating him in New York).

For me, if Wlad takes on Arreola instead of Haye then that's silly of him, and just proves even more than he just likes fighting fat lumps with no speed. David has pedigree, from crusierweight and knocked out a guy better than Witherspoon and Travis in quicker time than Wlad did (plus they have had a few confrontations). It's a natural to make, and it's the fight most people are hoping for. I just have a scary feeling that we'll not see Haye Vs either of the Klit's, but instead we'll see Wlad/Arreola then Povetkin and Vitali/Gomez then Maskeav. Perhaps it's time Haye and Peter squared up in a world-title eliminator and force the Klitschko's hands a little.

Haye will get his wish, they're just simmering the pot I think. And they need the WBC whatever they say to the contrary.

These guys are very classy and business-like, and I can't see them "simmering the pot" at all.

if he's going to get messed about by the klitschko's he should go after valuev imo

plus there'll be more money in a future fight with the klitschkos if haye is already a world champion

But again, he'll be hanging around forever. I'm sure it will be Valuev Vs Chagaev first, and then maybe the winner Vs Holyfield.

Monte Barrett is a better win than Chaz Witherspoon and Travis Walker. I'm pretty sure of that. I'm also pretty sure that Haye won a few world titles at cruiserweight. Arreola won't get near a bowl of salad let alone a world title.

David's beat two world-ranked heavyweights in only two fights at the weight. He's also the former unified crusierweight world champion, and like Eraser said, I'll be very surprised if Arreola wins a world championship - he's too fat and too slow.

Obviously this is about money and who is the one in charge.

I don't care about all the heavyweight politics, I just wanna see a fight. They should keep all this rubbish undercover.

If Haye gets more rounds at heavyweight against a good contender and then fights Wlad, that would be my hope.

Why is Maskaev going to be the new mandatory?

Vitali would have 12 months after beating Gomez to fight who he wants and I thought Haye-Barrett had some sort of WBC eliminator status?

But I wouldn't be surprised to see Vitali fight once a year, especially with his problems.

He shouldn't be allowed to remain a champion if he won't defend with some regularity.

Going off what Adam Booth said today, it looks like it could be Wlad in the summer. I hope this is true.

Valuev isn't a possibility anyway. He'll be up to his tits in mandatories after the WBA investigation.

Yeah, you know it'll be Chagaev, Holyfield, Ruiz, and then the Chagaev/Valuev loser again.

to bad hayes wants to fight the brothers so soon,,,if he took a couple of years to pre-pare, he might beat wlad, but the way he going with a punchers chance, he must not believe enough in himself to build his record at heavys, against top guy which barrett is not, cause if he took his time an built his record,,,,,This show down good be very big, money wise,,,,,right now it making HBO because of wlad,,,,2 years this could make PPV,,,which is alot more money...........If i was the brothers i would tell the guy to go prove himself, wlad will get no credit for this victory,,,,,,,He has NOTHING to gain...... :D

Targeting the two biggest MONEY fights in the division,,,,how brave,,balls like that people should wonder how he has't been made the new king of england.....There a long line for that same request, an the person in front of those lines are call mandatorys, they actully fought other heavweights to get there, not one or two, but several an some even fought barrett, they had to test them selves at this weightclass many times,,,,,How many do you think in that line would have a nice punchers chance agaisnt wlad,,,an the money that comes from that shot just makes it that much better, no question they would want cut in line an become the heavyweight challenger

Are you for real? :o

Why does David Haye have to prove himself?

If you know anything at all about David Haye at all you will look at his record and see he is prepared to get in there with the best - and if its not the best he is certainly prepared to test himself against quality opponents. Now if you do not think wins against Maccarinelli in such impressive style and the win against Mormeck is enough - and in addition if being the Undisputed Cruiserweight Champion Of The World - then testing himself against Heavyweights that have fought at a relatively high level which incidentally Barrett has then you really have not got a grasp on the realities of Boxing.

As for your theories about HBO only being interested in the Klitschko's again you are f*cking nuts - they are interested massively in David Haye as they view him as one of the most exciting boxers in world boxing - they also want to showcase his fights due to the fact he is prepared to take risks and he is prepared to get in the ring with the best in the division - surely that is what boxing fans have been crying out for years - a boxer who is prepared to take risks against the best!!!

With regards to your comments concerning the money surrounding the fight - again please take the happy pills and get urgent medical attention - the money that would be generated in Haye fighting "The Klitschko's" is huge and that is why the fights need to be taken now - can you imagine if Haye was to fight Wladimir and beat him - just in that fight it is a huge multi million pound fight in this country - but if he were to beat him - what does that make a Vitali v Haye fight worth?

As for your b*llocks in the last quote - the heavyweight division was the one time glamour division of boxing - in recent years many will argue not only has it been severly weakened by the lack of genuine world class heavyweights - it has also been weakened by the governing bodies and the politics surrounding the sport in not allowing the best to fight each other - The Klitschko's and Haye are bringing intrigue and some excitement back to the division - if they were to fight - it would generate a huge amount of interest - and just watch the other world champions within the division fall over themselves to finally get what the heavyweight divsion needs - an Undisputed Champion.

Haye if nothing else has caused excitement and interest in an otherwise dead division - his challenges has certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons - and with their reluctance to fight him - I would suggest its not Haye but the Klitschkos who do not as you have put it in your posts "believe in themselves" by trying their best to swerve Haye!!!

he caused excitement in England that's it. No one but Nuthuggers are clamoring for Haye-Klitschko. No one in
America is clamoring for Haye vs either Klitschko. Not in Germany or Candada only in England, Anyone who Knows
boxing would Say Haye would get KO'd, but if he was to win he's no savior of the division, because whoever he beat for
the title in a rematch would still be favorited over Haye. Haye KO's at Cruserweight means nothing at heayweight.
