DG, my last post on this subject. Hatton, when he beat Tszyu got into the P4P list - that was a given really when Tszyu was in the top five. Since then, he's took all new champions and unified most belts (in retrospect Urango and Maussa) weren't really up to scratch, but wins against Malignaggi, Castillo and Collazo have all compensated for those opponents. Hatton probably hasn't moved up the list too much since Tszyu, but even with defeat to Mayweather, he wouldn't have moved down too much because Mayweather is a phenomenon. I wouldn't have Ricky too high but I would have him top ten on my P4P list, no doubt. Furthermore, if he beats the number one, who's natural weight division is now close to 140lbs, then that will catapult him to first.

If Hatton did beat Pacquiao who on God's green Earth would you have as number one? Marquez, Calzaghe (who will probably retire), Margarito or Vasquez? If Hatton beats Pacquiao then for me, he'll have earned P4P#1, on my list anyways.

Happy hunting, ciao.

I think the manner of Pacquaio's win at 135 and win at 147 is pretty important when considering his P4P status.

Had Jirov faced and beat Roy Jones at Cruiserweight after Jones' exploits at Heavyweight his P4P ranking stock would have increased, just as Tarver's was.
Not by me he didn't. Beating DLH did zip to enhance Bernard's position. However, had Oscar won against Bernard, I'd have put him in top spot, as that would have been a pretty incredible result.

Calzaghe beating lacy. Kessler b hop and Jones always puts him above hatton. And the moment ffloyd comes back he is number 1! Ps. J is a pendulfart!

I guess it would all depend on how Ricky beats Pac for me, a close decision and he is at or around 5, a difinitive KO win and it'd be hard not to put him at #2 or 3.
Hatton deserves to be top 10 if he beats Pacquaio, but don't know about top 5, he's fighting a guy who has had only one fight above 135, and that against a very weight drained and ineffectual Oscar.

Pacquaio has no pedigree above 135, and his pedigree at 135 consists of a single fight.

For those reasons, if Hatton wins, I think we have to take the victory with some sort of pinch of salt.
Good points, Hatton would have to look spectacular for me to get him into the top 3 for sure. Still, Pac is unquestionably a P4P top dog and a win over him by Hatton should not be taken too lightly. Perhaps top 5 is pushing it but then again any p4p list is completely subjective. :TU:

Pac Man beat a limited Diaz and a worn out Anna Kournikova.

Pacman really is not that great a fighter - he ia a veru good fighter - but as a boxer he gets a B and not an A.

He can fight - but as a Boxer?

I think you'll find him to be a better boxer than you think in future fights. Pac is going through a transformation of styles lately and improves after every fight I feel.

Like Barrera before him, I think you will see a complete transformation from a wild come forward slugger, into a refined boxer who can mix it up when it calls for it.

He has the speed and sharpness to box well and Freddy Roach is putting those tools to good use. I thought the DLH fight was a good boxing performance. He didn't look to trade because that would be suicide, and stayed at range, picking his shots brilliantly, with DLH not being able to land a glove on him. Even at this stage, I don't think there are too many others who could do that to DLH.

Yes, he outboxed Barrera first time around. It wasn't a relentless slug, he was in - combinations and out before Barrera could catch him.

I don't think Barrera was at his sharpest and I honestly still believe that Barrera in his pomp would have beaten Manny (and Marquez for that matter). However, if Barrera's pomp was 2008 he'd be P4P number #1 also.

But that performance was a masterclass of BOXING by Pacquiao.

I think dlh not being able to do anything made pasman look better than he is. Jmm showed what a good boxer counterpuncher can do to pacman. Pacmana boxing to me looks forced but his is no doubt improving!
