although i hope im wrong you gotta fancy skelton strongly there. if they go at it from the start which i cant see it being any other way. but will be good while it lasts. and i would say that would take roagies earnings to £100,000 to £130,000 in the past year. so good on him he told me before prizefighter he was thinking of retiring cos he couldnt get any bouts. now 1 year on he will have enough money to buy a house. good lad top bloke and as game as they come

Yeah- Fair play to Rogan- his career seems to have really picked up with Prizefighter.

That said, this bout I'd say is more than likley going to be cancelled/postponed or similar, hope not, of course, but I can see plans changing and them lining up a softer bout for Skelton as a European title defence (probably not on this bill.)

Gavin, BJ Saunders and Degale are all on the bill as well. Also, as far as it being PPV, Bunce seemed fairly confident it would all be on Setanta yesterday. Reckon it's only Khan fights that will be on PPV especially what with that darn credit crunch and all.

Tough guy Martin Rogan gets his reward for a recent shock win over Audley Harrison when he challenges Bedford Bear and newly crowned European heavyweight champion Matt Skelton at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham on February 28.
Rogan, a big, 37-year-old taxi driver from Belfast, showed too much heart and desire for the talented but reluctant Harrison in December in London. Rogan wanted it more and he got it: a worthy 10-round decision.
In many ways Rogan and Skelton are similar: two burly rough-houses who win their fights on willingness, workrate and toughness. Age is no barrier. Less than a fortnight after Rogan's huge win over Harrison, the 42-year-old Skelton ventured to Italy and thumped local man Paolo Vidoz in nine rounds to secure the prize European belt. Skelton needed to stop Vidoz over there and did. The win also secured him a high world ranking.
Former kickboxer Skelton is much the more experienced of the two. He challenged Ruslan Chageav for the WBA heavyweight title early last year in Germany and gave it a good go before he conceded a unanimous decision. He held the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles before graduating to the European. In fact he cleaned up here.
Rogan, in contrast, only turned pro after a spat with amateur boxing officials and upset the formbook last April at York Hall to capture the £25,000 first prize in Prizefighter heavyweight with three wins in one night. "This is my equivalent of winning a world title," he crowed. Likewise, he was given no chance against former Olympic champion Harrison next time out but trained hard and took his chance. All of a sudden a world title is not totally out of the question for the likeable, unbeaten Rogan, certainly not if he topples Skelton. Rogan, 11-0 (5), a former Irish amateur international, is probably in the same league as someone like blubbery Los Angeles man Chris Arreola, who challenges IBF & WBO heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko shortly. I'm serious.
Skelton, however, shows no signs of slowing down and, crucially, can match Rogan for strength, fitness and punch-rate. This, along with his greater experience, makes him a prodigious favourite to retain in what could be a cracker.

So who is going to drop out, do we reckon? Probably Skelton, I'd say. Figthing a tough opponent TWO MONTHS after winning the European title? Nah....

Broadhurst V Bell- could see it changing Broadhurst V Import. Bendall's fight I'd like to see, which probably means that will be altered/pulled too!

I've looked for tickets for this- they are £30 and £50 for tiered seats, £100 for floor and £150 for ringside (plus ticketbater fees) BUT the appear to just be "general admission" IE you can sit anywhere within your price range (unless the site has got it wrong.)

What that means is even if you buy it late you can still get a decent seat as long as you turn up early enough.
